Enjoy the fun of Christmas from the comfort

of your own home by playing this wintery
Parent Guide
Christmas-themed game of I Spy.

How does this help my children’s learning?

Christmas is a fun celebration. Searching

for specific items in a film, cartoon or book
can help your child use their concentration
and comprehension skills.

Ideas for further learning:

Why not use the checklist to record which

items appear in your family’s favourite
Christmas-themed film, comic or book?
Winter Windowland Christmas I Spy
How to Play
1. The first player secretly chooses one of the Christmas-themed images
from the sheet.
2. They then say ‘I spy with my little eye, something beginning with…’
and the other players then guess the image beginning with the letter.
3. The player who guesses correctly goes next.

Alternative Ways to Play

• Increase the challenge by giving adjectives as clues
instead of the first letter of the word.
• Challenge your child to find each of the items listed on
the checklist in the Christmas picture collage.
• Use the checklist to record all of the different Christmas-themed items
or characters in your family’s favourite winter film, comic or book.
