Topic: Upbringing

Task:

Write an article about your upbringing. (The way you were raised as a child - 4

paragraphs). Each paragraph has to have five to six lines. Was it quite strict / very

strict / lenient? Did you have to follow any rules? Did you have any

responsibilities? What were you allowed or weren’t allowed to do? Are you

grateful about things that you learned from your parents? (200 words)

 You have an example about how to write an article in the EBook on page 64 -

Unit 05: Parents and Children.

 Write about your own experiences. Do not copy and paste tests from the Internet.

Teachers realize immediately about it. To talk about this topic, you have to use

the Simple Past - Regular & Irregular Verbs / Used to / Didn’t use to… / I was

allowed to…. / I wasn’t allowed to…. These are grammar structures that you

already know from Basic and Intermediate Program.

Here you have some vocabulary to use to organize your ideas.

 Vocabulary to use in order to give examples

In the case of…. / For example… / Such as…

a. In the case of my upbringing, it was neither completely strict, nor

completely lenient.

b. Take my own upbringing, for example. It was neither very strict

nor very lenient.

c. One area in which we had a lot of rules was table manners. For

example, we weren’t allowed to start our meal until the oldest person

had started.

d. We couldn’t make any noise, such as smacking our lips.

The exam has two parts:

I. Brainstorming: (10 points)

Write as many ideas as possible about the topic: Upbringing. The ideas are personal

because you are not people from the same family and each one of you was raised in

a different way.

For example:

 My parents were very strict.

 I had rules to follow

 Write down at least 8 complete ideas in this section (Brainstorming)

II. Article (20 points)

Write an article about your upbringing…….. (Instructions from the Task (Upper

Part)

The instructions are clear and easy to understand, read the instructions

carefully.

The Writing Exam will be on Sunday 24th

Listening 02 on Saturday 23rd.
