Management teaches you to understand how people behave in organizations and
the nature of power, influence and leadership. It is about attaining an organizational goal by the cooperation of a group which comprises four important factors such as planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating. Effective and efficient managerial skills are an integral part of our duty as an educator. We need this skill in each aspects of our profession, may it be managing a whole institution, our colleagues, or even own selves. Global outbreak of COVID-19 virus posed a lot of challenges to education. It mirrors what kind of manager are we in terms of responding in this crisis that we are facing. How did we planned to overcome these struggles particularly in handling our class? Each of us can say that we didn’t plan well enough. Developing Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan really helps us as a response for this pandemic. Yet we still encountered many shortcomings specifically in lacking of trainings and skills in conducting printed modular distance learning. There are few teachers that are insufficient in ICT utilization. Inadequate supply and error of printed modules also heightened the difficulty. Learning continuity becomes very difficult on our pupils and parents. They used to be inside school premises but now they need to facilitate learning on their own. Outcomes is congruent to management system. School heads and principals whose role is to manage our school crafted a progressive plan that can response to everyone’s needs and to the demand of educational system. They direct us to the path that we need to undertake in this time of crisis. Providing supervision and controlling the step-by-step plan, are also part of their duties. However, a manager is not a manager without the cooperation of the organization. Teachers, learners, parents and other stakeholders in school system need not only to be involved but also to cooperate in order to attain our common goals. And that goal is the continuity of quality education while ensuring the safety and health of each other. This cooperation demands independent driven goal. Although we have the learning continuity plan that is necessary to implement. Everyone must be intrinsically motivated in being accountable in doing their role.
