✔ Different animals posses complicated reproductive system and differ in the way
they reproduce.

✔ Animals reproduce to provide continued existence of their own kind.To be able to

reproduce their own kind , animals need to be mature.Their reproductive system
needs to be mature.Their reproductive organs needs to be fully developed.

✔ There are two main modes of reproduction: sexual and asexual reproduction.
Some organism reproduce by only one mode of reproduction and others can
reproduce both

✔ In sexual reproduction, two parent organism are involved : male and female .The
female parent produces egg cells and the male parent produces sperm cells.
When the egg cell unite with the sperm cells, the process is called fertilization.

✔ The mode of reproduction where cells from only oone parent are used and no
reproductive organ is involved is called asexual reproduction

✔ There are two basic ways in which the gametes are brought together : internal
fertilization and external fertilization.

✔ In external fertilization- the eggs are fertilized in ther environment outside the
body of the female .External fertilization occurs in most aquatic invertibrates.

✔ In internal fertilization – fertilization occurs within the body of the female . It is

a characteristic of animals that live in land.

✔ Plant parts that are used as vegetables are bulbs, flowers , fruits, leaves , roots ,
seeds. Stems tubers and rhizomes.

✔ The parts of the flowers include : petals, stamen , pollen grain, pistil, ovary,
sepal, ovule, and egg cell

✔ Pollination -occurs when the pollen grain of one flower reaches the stigma of
another flower.

✔ There are two types of pollination : self pollination and cross-pollination.

✔ Some types of plant propagation are layering, grafting and cutting.
