HOW TO MAKE A MEATLOAF

Directions
BEFORE GETTING STARTED:
Wash your hands prior to preparing any food. Preheat your oven to 375°. You will need the following items to
make your meatloaf:
GROCERY ITEMS
 2lbs ground beef
 2 eggs
 1 box stove top chicken flavored stuffing
 1 cup of water
 1 packet of meatloaf seasoning
 1/2c of BBQ sauce
 1/2c of ketchup
 1/4c of chopped onion

COOKING SUPPLIES
 9x13in or 9X9in glass pan
 Foil
 Measuring cup
 Spatula
 Large mixing bowl

WARNING
Handling raw meat can increase your risk of contracting food poisoning (i.e.,
Salmonella or E-coli). Wash your hands and all hard surfaces thoroughly after handling
raw meat.

PREPARING THE MEATLOAF

1. In large mixing bowl add: 2lbs ground beef, 1 box of stuffing, 1/4c of chopped onion, 2 eggs, 1/4c of
ketchup, 1/4c of BBQ sauce.
2. Add packet of meatloaf seasoning to the 1c of water and then pour over meatloaf contents.

3. Using your hands slowly kneed together all the ingredients inside the bowel until well mixed together,
forming into large ball.

4. Take meatloaf and place into glass pan, pressing outward from middle to form a loaf (rectangular or
square shape), making sure meat is pressed firmly together so it does not fall part.

5. Mix together remaining 1/2c of ketchup and BBQ sauce. Using spatula, spread mixture over the top of
the meatloaf evenly, coating the entire top (add more or less if desired).

6. Cover pan with foil.

7. Place meatloaf in preheated oven at 375° for 50 minutes.

8. Remove foil from meatloaf and cook an additional 10 minutes uncovered.


9. Remove meatloaf from oven and allow to cool before serving.

10. ENJOY!

TIPS

 Try adding mushrooms or chopped jalapenos to your meatloaf for added flavor!
 You can use either just Ketchup or BBQ instead of mixing together.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM CORRECTION
Too watery  Use a little less than a full cup of water or a
little more ground beef.

 Make sure you added the bread crumps


(stuffing) and eggs
Falls apart  Press edges together inbetween pressing
out in pan

 Cook full 60 minutes covered, then


additional 10 minutes uncovered
Undercooked  Make sure ground beef is thoroughly
thawed
 If older stove, may need to cook at 400°

 Cook 5-10 minutes less


Overcooked  Turn oven down to 360°
