Answer 1:
The form of project management seems to be basic since it is a single project,
which cannot be break down into different project as in the case of Program. The
structure of the project is matrix since it includes the functional members and an
outside team dedicated to the project. The project has given top priority as project
manager, authority rules over functional managers.

Answer 2:

Since the project manager is from the functional area, the department of Financial
System is among the departments, which will affected by the new benefits system.
She is well aware about the environment and the requirement of Shah Alam
Medical Center. She could also, set more practical and client-based Project
deliverables.
The con is if she gives priority to FS, ignores the possible effects on the HR, and IS
departments, there is a huge possibility of conflict of interest among the project
team. Project has given more priority still she will not be able to give full attention
to project since routine work will be going in parallel, which will affect the
efficiency of the Project Manager.

Answer 3:
According to the given case study the members of Shah Alam Medical
Center worked on the project on the part time basis spending roughly half their
time on the project and other half on their normal duties and the project manager
and team leaders worked part time on the project. The scenario is all clear here,
human can perform multiple task but managing such a professional project is a
huge task which
Cannot carried easily as a part time duty. Therefore expecting the workers to
consider project as their first priority is not justified. If they do so their other duties
will be compromised.
Answer 4:
The project leader will have a challenge to coordinate with the HBS team since the
success of the project is very dependent on them. The leader must also possess
basic knowledge regarding the new system’s software and hardware. The
coordination between the internal project team and the external HBS team will be
most critical and crucial in meeting project goals.
