is a large listed sportswear and equipment company based in the United States,
headquartered near Beaverton, Oregon, it is part of Portland Metropolitan Area. The world's
leading supplier of athletic shoes and clothing.

'If you have a body, you are an athlete' - Bill Bowerman

When Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman made this observation, he defined how he saw the
endless possibilities of human potential in sports. He set the direction and direction for a
young company called Nike, which was founded in 1972. And today, the same words are
inspiring a new generation of Nike employees. Innovative thinking, such as creating products
that help athletes of all skill levels reach their potential, and creating business opportunities
that set Nike apart from its competitors and add value to its shareholders. The purpose is to

It began with a handshake between two visionary Oregonians, Bowerman, and his University
of Oregon runner, Phil Knight. They and the people they hired have developed and developed
a company that will become Nike from a US shoe retailer to a global marketer for athletic
shoes, apparel and equipment that is unmatched anywhere in the world.

In the process, Nike has built a strong brand portfolio with several wholly owned
subsidiaries, including Cole Hana, Converse Inc., Hurley International LLC, Nike Golf and
Umbra Limited.

Nike's headquarter is located on the outskirts of Portland, near Beaverton, Oregon. That's
why the Pacific Northwest is the birthplace of Nike, but now it's operating in more than 160
countries around the world. Nike employs nearly one million people, directly or indirectly,
through suppliers, freight carriers, retailers and other service providers.

It includes more than 73,300 Nike employees on six continents, each making their own
contribution to fulfilling Nike's mission. It is about bringing inspiration and innovation to all
athletes around the world. Nike's revenue for the fiscal year ended May 31, 2021 was up 19%
$ 44.5 billion, up 17% on a currency-neutral basis.

Moreover, we have also analysed the organizational structure, organizational culture, training
and development, performance management of Nike, Inc. after which we have prepared this
report. Nike is facing child labour problems that are negatively affecting the brand image of
Nike. However, it is also because of the changing preferences of the consumers that Nike’s
market share is decreasing. Further in the report, we have come up with the organizational
and human resource policies of Nike and strategies to cope up with these objectives to drive
Nike successfully.
