SUMMARY
The extract sheds light on a way of learning as a team and the advantages of it.
According to the excerpt, team-based learning means that students in class can have a chance to
work together regardless of different cultures and traditions. Teachers are considered as a person
who help children finding their target in this type of learning. Then, team exercises may help
students enhance their skills such as communication, problem-solving as well as control their
studies. Moreover, instead of learning boring information from textbooks, working as a team
offers students to access to practical tasks, handle conflicts between members and learn from
others. All these set of skills are useful when students enter universities, especially international
colleges, because they need to interact with different kinds of global scenarios and apply for jobs
in the future.

CHART
The pie chart compares the percentage of british students’s ability to use other languages
apart from their mother tongues in a particular university between 2000 and 2010.
It can be seen clearly that Spanish was the most popular spoken language in both two
years. However, the proportion of students being enable to speak more than one language was
the lowest and then raising up over the 10 year period.
The year 2000 witnessed the French’s users were exactly the same as the rate of students
who could speak another language (15%). The ratio of undergradutes being speak more than two
languages (10%) was double less than the German’s users(20%), which increased slightly in 10
years later, about 5%.
Regarding the second pie chart, the percentage of German’s users remained unchaged.
The Spanish speakers arised up by 5% and still by far commonly spoken, about 35%. In contrast,
there were a decrease from 20% in 2000 to 10% in 2010 in students who could not use any other
languages.
ESSAY
Improving children’s ability to complete all set of essential skills in life is of a concern of
schools, parents and societies. Since children are born in different environments, so they also
access to different way of learning and build up their personalities. One of the important skills
which they need to have is critical thinking, many people consider that it does not help children,
others believe it is absolutely needed. From my perspective, I completely agree that critical
thinking can bring to us a lot of benefits.
To begin with, there is a problem with many people is that they do not understand
properly what critical thinking means. In my opinion, critical thinking is the way we of thinking
about particular things and situations, which is not theory or form of something learned from
textbooks. Critical thinking helps us a lot. Firstly, it helps to increase memory and reflection.
Since children spend time asking question about something, they tend to remember the answer
longer as well as improve interpretation with others. Moreover, it requires brainstorm. While
children are thinking about all the aspects of one problem, their brain are working too, and
gradually it becomes logical and intelligent.
In contrast, children who are not capable of critical thinking might be very
disadvantaged. They just accept all the knowledge they have learned from books, parents and
schools, which means there is no chances for them to express their emotions and questions about
problems. this kind of learning can have an adverse effect on one’s future.
In conclusion, critical thinking is essential, we need to improve it by many ways such as
analysing problem or asking other people .
