Ethiopian government granted affirmative action for women in order to
empower them in socio-economic and political life.
5. Some plausible methods of avoiding delinquency are:
• providing counseling services to the youth who appear to be on the
verge to become delinquent.
• Including the youngsters in clubs and recreational centers in order to
keep them away from delinquent situations.
• Improving educational and work skills of youngsters.
• Probation or keeping delinquents and suspend them at certain places
with prescribed rules under the supervision of officers.
• Other treatment of delinquency is works experience counseling
educational and group therapy.
6. The following are some of these rights of women stated in the FDRE
Constitution
• Women have equal rights with men to exercise and enjoy all the
democratic and human rights provisions in the constitution.
• Because of the biological nature of worm, they are entitled to special
privileges. One of such privileges is the right to maternity leave with
full pay before and after they give birth to a child.
• Women have the right to participate and make decisions on natural
policies on different issues.
• Women have the right to possess, transfer and inherit properties.
• Women have the right to education, employment and equal pay to
men for work of equal value.
• Women have equal right with men to own and administer property.
• Women have the right of equality before, during and after marriage.
• Women have the right to protection from harmful practices.
