Although I have done serious sins since kalp after kalp,

ÊaØapi - still, NaƒÊh - Lord of my soul, yah - this (in my), hiya - heart,

jeevanmoori - life of (my) life
Still, O Lord of my soul! I know in my heart that You (and only You) are the
life of my life.

kabai - when will, suraÊi - remembrance, think of, karihau - do,

Øaƒs - (Your) servant, devotee, pag - feet, foot, Øhoori - dust
Considering me as the footdust of Your Devotees please think of me also
(and give me Your vision).

O my Beloved! Why haven’t You come to me up till now. What are You
pondering upon in Your mind (that You are delaying to come)?

While remembering Your name and virtues, my eyes will be constantly
flooded with the tears of Your love,

Roop-maƒØhuri nishi Øin ØhyaƒvaÊ, man bhriœgi bani jai-haiœ.
roop-maƒØhuri - sweet Divine form, nishi - night, Øin - day, ØhyaƒvaÊ
- meditating, man - mind, my whole being, bani jai-haiœ - will become
While meditating on Your sweet Divine form day and night, my whole being
will become the embodiment of Your love just like a bhringi,

Baƒt nihaƒri Êihaƒri pal pal, kalap samaƒn janai-haiœ.
baƒt - path (of your arrival), nihaƒri - looking to, Êihaƒri - Your, pal -
moment, kalap - kalp, eon, samaƒn - equal, same, janai-haiœ -
seems to, feels like
While impatiently looking to the path of Your arrival, a moment of delay
will seem to extend to eons in Your separation,

and wandering here and there (in Braj) I will lose my body consciousness.

Yah ‘Kripaƒlu’ jiya param bharoso, kabahuœ Êo Hari apanai-
haiœ.
yah - this (fact), Kripaƒlu - Kripalu Mahaprabhuji, jiya - mind, heart,
param - fully, bharoso - belief, understanding, kabahuœ Êo - some
day (surely), Hari - Krishn, apanai-haiœ - will accept
I fully believe that one day my Krishn will surely (come to me and) make
me His own, forever.

hauœ - I, ØaØhi - curd, bechan - to sell, jaƒÊ - was going, Øekhyoœ -
saw, NanØkumaƒr - son of Nandbaba, Krishn
I was going to sell my curds in Vrindaban, when I saw Nandkumar Krishn.

So c◊habi lakhaÊ banaÊ, nahiœ barnaÊ, roop-maƒØhuri-saƒr.
so - His, that, such, c◊habi - beauty, lakahaÊ - to see, banaÊ - words,
to say, nahiœ - not, cannot, barnaÊ - to express, to describe, roop-
maƒØhuri - sweetness of Divine beauty, saƒr - essence
I cannot express into words how beautiful He was. He was like the nectar of
the sweetness of the ocean of the Divine beauty. You have to see it to
understand.

tana-mana-Paana inaC‹avar kaãir maœ/ iL‹yao maoL‹ irJavaar .


Âan-man-praƒn nic◊haƒvar kari maiœ, liyo mol rijhvaƒr.
Êan-man-praƒn - body, heart, soul (whole being), nic◊haƒvar - sacrifice,
kari - did, maiœ - I, liyo mol - bought, rijhvaƒr - personified beauty, Krishn
I sacrificed my whole being; body, heart, soul and everything, on His beauty
and bought Him forever.

Puni puni kahyau ‘hamaƒri pyaƒri’, suni suni gai balihaƒr.
puni puni - repeatedly, kahayau - said, hamaƒri pyaƒri - O my
sweetheart, suni suni - hearing those words, gai balihaƒr - to adore
He then came close to me and said, “O my sweetheart, O my loving one,”
and I felt so thrilled with the sweetness of those words that I just adored it.

(The Gopi friend who was listening to her love talks, said in a loving taunt,)
“You are rejoicing your meeting with Nandkumar so much, but do you know
that He has also given you the deep pangs of His separation?”

(A Gopi is saying to her friend:) O sakhi! Look, Kishoriji is so beautifully
adorned with flowers (that I have no words to express the loving thrill of my
heart).

Phulan ki chanØrkalaƒ sir sohaÊi, phulan ki banØani Øhaƒr.
phulan - flowers, ki - of, chanØrkalaƒ - chandrika (ornament), sir -
head, sohiÊ - decorates, banØani Øhaƒr - crown band
Her chandrika is made of flowers and the main crown on Her forehead is
also made of flowers.

JhoomaÊ shravaÙ phulan ke jhumke, besar kalin nihaƒr.
jhoomaÊ - waving (wearing), shravaÙ - ears, phulan - flowers, ke -
of, jhumke - ear-pendants, besar - nose pearl, kalin - of flower
buds, nihaƒr - look
She is wearing beautiful ear-pendants that are made of flowers and the nose
pearl too is made of a tiny, white, fragrant bud of a fancy flower.

The patterns of flower petals on Her blue blouse and lahnga appear to be
like the stars in the sky.

Phulan ki paƒyal aœgurin bic◊huye, veÙihiœ phulan saœvaƒr.
phulan - flowers, ki - of, paƒyal - anklets, aœgurin - finger, toe,
bic◊huye - toe ring, veÙihin - in braid, saœvaƒr - decorate
Radha is wearing anklets and toe rings of flowers and Her braid is also decorated
with a variety of colored flowers (whose scent, mixed with the scent of Her
hair, is spreading a wave of loving rejoicement in the atmosphere).

Baby Radhika, Lali, has appeared in the arms of Mother Kirti, and so, all

Barsaƒno - Barsana dham, lakhi - to see, to compare, kotin -
millions, Baikunth - Vaikunth abode, lajaƒee - defies, ashamed
Today, Barsana dham is so lavishly decorated by all means that it defies the
accumulated beauty of millions of Vaikunth.

Chahuœ Øishi viviØh baƒjne baƒjaÊ,

chahuœ Øishi - in four directions, everywhere, viviØh - different
kinds, baƒjne - musical instruments, baƒjaÊ - being played, paraÊ
sunaƒee - heard, na kahuœ - nowhere, kac◊hu - any kind, shabØ -
sound, voice
Overjoyed with the occasion, everywhere people are playing some kind of
music, so nothing else is being heard in that noise.

Bhari-bhari moothi maÙin moÊin ki, yaØyapi KiraÊi maƒÊu lutaƒee.
bhari-bhari - full, abundantly, moothi - handful, maÙin - precious,
jewels, moÊin - pearls, yaØyapi - although, maƒÊu - mother KiraÊi,
lutaƒee - freely throwing, abundantly distributing
Mother Kirti is abundantly distributing pearls and precious jewels with her
hands to people,

awareness, kaƒhuhiœ - no one has, sabai - all, viØeh - unattached,
Øeh - body, consciousness, paØ - stage, status, paƒee - received
But no one has any thought of collecting them because (after having the
vision of baby Radha, they are so much drowned in Her loving Bliss that)
they have lost their body consciousness and have become videh.

ViØhi - Brahma, Hari - Vishnu, Har - Shiv, sur - celestial gods and
goddesses, kahaÊ - saying, (singing), eak swar - (in) one voice,
together, shakÊi - power, suhaƒee - to Grace, to glorify
Brahma, Vishnu, Shiv and other gods and goddesses are together singing
and saying, “Glory to our supreme ahladini power.”

sacrifice, Êaƒpar - on such, nij - I, kar (jaee) - do, koti - millions,
brahm sukh - brahmanand
Kripalu Mahaprabhuji says that I also sacrificed uncountable brahmandas
on such an indescribable elated scene of Radha’s birthday. (6)

Braj-ras baras rahyo Braj beeÊhin, gyaƒni binu jaƒne bharmaƒya.
Braj-ras - bliss of Braj, baras - showered, rahyo - being, beeÊhin -
lanes, gyaƒni - knowledgeable, binu jaƒne - without knowing,
bharmaƒya- confoundedly wandering
Braj ras is being showered in the lanes of Braj everywhere, but the gyani
(who is supposed to be knowledgeable) is confoundedly wandering in Braj
without knowing it.

Jehi khojaÊ gyaƒni jan laƒkhan.
jehi - whom, khojaÊ - looking for, gyaƒni jan - Gyani Saints, laƒkhan -

Hundreds of thousands of gyanis, looking for the absolute divinity,

Hari - absolute brahm, alakh - non-perceivable, imi - in this way, in
the end, laƒge - started, bhaƒkhan - saying
And, exhausting themselves with that effort, they said in the end that the
absolute brahm is non-perceivable (alakh);

VrinØaƒvipin sakhin anchalpat, lipat rahyo soi Øhaƒya. [1]
VrinØaƒvipin - forests of Vrindaban, Braj, sakhin - Gopis,
anchalpat - upper end of sari, lipat rahyo - holding, frolicking,
Øhaƒya - seen, soi - same (poorntam purshottam brahm)
But in Braj, the same non-perceivable brahm of the gyanis as poorntam
purushottam brahm Krishn, is seen frolicking with the anchal (upper end of
the sari) of the Gopis. [1]

Which is beyond the words of the Vedas (so they describe it as ‘neti, neti’),

Nirvikalp, nirlep, baÊaƒvaÊ.
nirvikalp - thoughtless, nirlep - unattached,
baÊaƒvaÊ - give knowledge about, recognize
And which is recognized (by the Vedas) as being thoughtless and unattached;

But in Braj, the same almighty, absolute, and all-glorious brahm is seen tied
up with an ukhal by Mother Yashoda who is scaring Him with a thin little
stick in her hand (and asking Him as to why He ate the soil). [4]

Jehi lagi japi, Êapi bharmaƒvaÊ.
jehi - whom, lagi - long, arduous, japi - ritualists, Êapi - ascetics,

The supreme Divine form of God, Whose vision is desired by millions of
devout people and the ascetics through their lifelong arduous practices, but
they don’t see Him,

jogi - yogis, jog - yog practices, agini - fire, heat, jari jaƒvaÊ - to burn, to heat

Seeing the Divineness of every part and particle of Braj remain engrossed
in the love and the leelas of Radha Krishn all the time. (This is how one

Radha Rani wears a small elegant gold chandrika which is suspended in the
middle of Her gold crown. (They are uniquely studded and ornamented
with radiant precious jewels like diamond, sapphire, ruby and emerald, etc.
of various shades and sizes.) Under the crown there is a continuous line of
intercrossing mini loops of extremely small and fine pearls.

Sakhis then tied up the hands of Krishn (with one of their choonari) and

maÙin - jewels, jatiÊ - embedded, chanØan - sandalwood,
peethaƒsan - special low height seat, raƒjaÊ - sitting, Øou - both,
Sarkaƒr - Beloveds, Radha Krishn
My Both Beloveds are sitting on a low height seat (especially made for
dining purpose), which is embedded with jewels and is made of sandalwood.

Kanak Êhaƒr mahaœ kanak katorin, saƒjiœ sakhin saœvaƒr.
kanak - gold, Êhaƒr - plate, thali, mahaœ - in, katorin - bowls, saƒjiœ -
neatly placed, decorated, sakhin - Gopis, saœvaƒr - neatly
The Gopis have neatly placed the gold bowls in an ornamented high edged
large gold dish,

Puni Êin mahaœ parseeœ bahu byaœjan, shat-ras saras apaƒr.
puni - then, Êin - them, mahaœ - in, parseeœ - served, bahu - many
byaœjan - food, dishes, shat-ras - six kinds, saras - very tasty,
apaƒr - limitless
And in them they served the food of nectar delicacy of all the six kinds of
flavors (salty, sweet, hot and spicy, pungent, savory, and sour).

Piya - Krishn, Pyaƒri-mukh - in Radha’s mouth, Pyaƒri - Radha,
Piya-mukh - in Krishn’s mouth, haœsi haœsi - giggling and smiling,
graƒsahiœ - morsels, daƒr - put, give
Radha and Krishn, Both started eating. Joyfully giggling and smiling,
sometimes They gave morsels of Their choice in each other’s mouth.

saiKana samaaja saaja sa<g‹ a g‹‹aavaita/ maDaur saurna jaeŒvanaar .


Sakhin samaƒj saƒj saœg gaƒvaÊi, maØhur suran jeœvnaƒr.
sakhin samaƒj - all the Gopis, saƒj - instruments, saœg - with,
gaƒvaÊi - sing, maØhur - sweet, suran - voice, jeœvnaƒr - dining song
The Gopis played the instruments and sang the ‘dining song’ (jenvnar) in a
sweet voice while They ate.

Lakhi ‘Kripaƒlu’ so baƒœki jhaƒœki, ko na praƒÙ Øe vaƒr.
lakhi - seeing, so - such, this, baƒœki jhaƒœki - loving leela, ko - who,
na - not, praƒÙ - soul, Øe vaƒr - would sacrifice
The Gopi says, “This dining leela is so loving and charming that anyone
who sees it sacrifices his soul.”

Yugalvar - beloved couple, Radha Krishn, jhulani - swinging vision,
ki - of, balihaƒr - I adore, I sacrifice my life for (this vision)
(A Gopi says:) Balihar to the swinging vision of my beloved couple,
Radha Krishn.

Naƒgari aru Naƒgar jhuki jhoomaÊ, bhal galbaƒhiœ daƒr.
Naƒgari - all-beauteous Radha, aru - and, Naƒgar - all-virtuous Krishn,
jhuki jhoomaÊ - merrily swinging and leaning,
galbaƒhiœ - arms around the neck, daƒr - put (having)
The all-virtuous Radha and Krishn, having Their arm around the neck of
each other, are merrily swinging and leaning backward and forward as the
swing moves.

Umad∆i ghumad∆i ghan garjaÊ chamkaÊi, chaplaƒ baƒrambaƒr.
umad∆i - rising, excited, ghumad∆i - gathering, ghan - dark rain
clouds, garjaÊ - thundering, chamkaÊi - glowing, chaplaƒ - lightning,
baƒrambaƒr - frequently, again and again
The dark rain clouds (of Divine Vrindaban, excited with the swinging leela
of Radha Krishn,) are covering the leela ground, and are happily thundering
and frequently lightning (which is intensifying the charming glow of Radha’s
ornaments).

paMcama saur sao taana åL‹apaita/ g‹‹aavata saiKana maL‹ar .


Pancham sur soœ Êaƒn alaƒpaÊi, gaƒvaÊ sakhin malaƒr.
pancham - high (fifth), sur - pitch, soœ - with, from, Êaƒn - melodious
tone, alaƒpaÊi - singing long notes, gaƒvaÊ - sing, sakhin - Gopis,
malaƒr - classical music, malar raag
Taking melodious taan in a high pitch tone, Gopis (to exhilarate the Bliss
of the leela) started to sing a loving song in malar rag in a very sweet voice.

g‹‹aavata hI Gana barsana L‹ag‹‹ae/ BaIjata doü sarkaãar .


GaƒvaÊ hi ghan barsan laƒge, bheejaÊ Øou Sarkaƒr.
GaƒvaÊ hi - as soon as (Gopis) sang, ghan - clouds, barsan - to rain,
laƒge - started, bheejaÊ - wet, soaked, Øou - both, Sarkaƒr - Beloveds
As soon as Gopis started to sing, the clouds began to rain and our Both
Beloveds started to soak with the rain water.

Daina ‘ka]ãpaa¬’ sao baa<kaãI Jaa<kaãI/ Daina ijana taaih inahar ..


Æhani ‘Kripaƒlu’ so baƒœki jhaƒœki, Øhani jin Êaƒhi nihaƒr.
Øhani - glory to, so - such, to this, baƒœki - loving, jhaƒœki - vision,
jin - those, Êaƒhi - who, nihaƒr - watch this (leela)
(In a moderate weather when it is neither very cold nor hot, this kind of
loving vision of the swinging leela is something very exceptional.) A Gopi
says, “Glory to this vision, and glory to those who watch this.”
