Character Bond
The bonds between characters and how they know each other and the world is important to link the players and
help them find their place in the world. To facilitate this, each player selects 2 or 3 bonds from the list below and
adds another characters name in the space provided.

Once this has been complete, each player reads out their bonds and elaborates on how the circumstances came
about and what happened.

Skill Cap
Whilst they aren’t exactly super heroes, characters have a high level of skill in multiple areas, however, these broad
skills can only be levelled up so far. Within a default setting with the typical skill pyramid, player can only have broad
skills up to Good (+3). In a setting using a hybrid Approach and Skill list, no broad skill can be higher than Fair (+2).
Once a skill reaches this cap, in order to progress it higher, it must become a specialisation of the broad skill –
however the broad skill remains at that level.
For example, if a player has the fight skill at Good (+3), in order to advance it to Great (+4) it must become a
specialisation. The player chooses Swords as his specialisation, meaning that and punch thrown is rolled with Good
(+3), however any swing of their sword is rolled with Great (+4).

Rest Scene and Rumours
Each time the players take a long rest, one player (take it turns) narrates the whole scene in order to show what a bit
of down time looks like for the group. Any player can insert themselves into the scene, but the caveat is that
whatever they are doing must be aligned to either; one of their aspects (in order to work toward changing it) or one
of the character bonds (aligned with it or in order to work toward changing it).

Anyone not narrating the scene or inserting themselves into the scene, are assumed to be sitting around the
campfire, sharing stories. Each player must nominate a rumour, not matter how small or big, that their character has
heard in their travels. These can then form part of future adventures.

Devils Bargain
In the event of a player wanting to invoke an aspect or gain a bonus, however not having any fate points left, the GM
may decide to offer a Devils Bargain. This allows a character to invoke an aspect for free, however to do so they are
taking a great risk and as such can except something bad to happen. Common Devil’s Bargains include:
 Collateral damage, unintended harm.
 Sacrifice coin or an item.
 Betray a friend or loved one.
 Offend or anger a faction.
 Start and/or tick a troublesome clock.
 Add heat to the crew from evidence or witnesses.
 Suffer harm.

The Devil’s Bargain occurs regardless of the outcome of the roll. You make the deal, pay the price, and get the bonus.

Travel Montage
Anytime some sort of lengthy travel occurs and you want to gloss over it and get on with the story, get every player
to say or narrate one interesting event or landmark that happened on the journey. You can either get the player to
set up a scene and roleplay or just narrate what happened.

Attack Multiple People

Anytime a character is adjacent to more than enemy his can make an attack against as many of them as he wants.
The character rolls Fight and invokes any relevant aspects. Each enemy attacked makes a defend roll and, for any
that fail, they suffer damage. The character calculates the number of shifts against the lowest defend rolled and they
can then allocate the shifts against the enemies that failed their defend roll.
