1 GENERAL TASK REPORT
The task T4.3 Installation and operational testing of trap network is a predecessor activity of tasks
T4.4 and T4.5. The purpose of task T4.3 was to initiate and facilitate the installation of traps in the
field in order to form a network of traps. At the beginning it was primarily focused on developing
methods and techniques for user friendly installation of automated traps. The initial result of this
task was an installation manual (see Appendix A).
Once the traps were being installed in the field, the main activity within this task was to plan how
the traps that were installed by individual growers/customers will be grouped in sub-clusters and
clusters. Therefore activities also required close communication with the sales team and the
development team. This means that the task was to link and interconnect individual automated
traps in smaller sub-clusters (usually at customer or region level) and then to interconnect the
sub-clusters to build clusters (usually nation level) and finally to connect all clusters in order to get
the whole network of traps operational.
In the table 1 on the next page a structure of the network in form of customers, sub-clusters,
clusters (national level) and finally the whole network is presented. In some countries sub-clusters
of traps were built on regional level (e.g. North France) and in some countries all of the traps in
the country presented one cluster (e.g. Slovenia). The structure resembles a tree structure, with
each major branch representing a country (cluster) and smaller branches represent regions and
customers (sub-clusters and customer level).
Installation of the trap network was completed by customers under close supervision of EFOS
support staff, who have also executed the trap network operation testing of the traps remotely
and in some cases cluster installations were also performed with on-site visits by EFOS personnel.
The final deliverable of this task is Operational Trap Network. The purpose of this report is to
demonstrate the structure of Trapview Network of traps as it was designed in the project plan and
to show that network is operating and in full functionality. The live demonstration of the trap
network is available on-line on the following address:

As the map above is probably not detailed enough, as icons for individual traps are overlapping,
we are presenting the network of traps in greater detail for each region below:
