Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition:

This DPG is specialized to where I would like to take my future career. They have a

volunteer opportunity. You fill out a form and they set up a volunteer opportunity for you. They

are setting you up to resume build and become familiar with the field work. This DPG also has

awards and scholarships for students and active members. The interesting thing about this DPG

is that it not only includes dietitians and nutritionists, but athletic trainers and diabetes educators

as well. They have folders for job postings available for members to view. They have a

networking category as well which can help you set up contacts for later years.

Food and Culinary Professionals:

This DPG has such good nutrition and food related information. They have multiple

newsletters. They also have a mentor program so they can guide you through your career and

education journey. They have developed a culinary training certification and education and travel

certification for members as well. They support your career and boost it. They also offer multiple

educational webinars to educate members further. They have frequent recipe contests as well,

which is a fun activity.

Weight Management:

This DPG offers newsletters and self-study material. They also offer courses to become

certified trainers in weight management and interdisciplinary specialist certification in obesity

and weight management. They have continuing education courses and materials for members. I

think this DPG is very beneficial for any career path we take as dietitians, because there will

always be someone who needs help understanding food and how to maintain weight. They have

a Wellness-coaching book club as well. They offer awards and stipends like the SCAN DPG.

This DPG has so many great recourses.
