Tutorials

Open the main menu and select tutorial whenever you want to read over these entries
again.

Note on the text color:

The tutorials of the game are described below in text color gray.
The information that I added is written in text color black.

Save

The game saves automatically. The game is saved every time the loading screen
appears.

Battle

Staggering enemies

Press the Y (switch) or □ (playstation) button once to slash.

Press it repeatedly to activate a sword skill and perform a combo.
Press the X (switch) or ∆ (playstation) button to activate a sword skill instantly. This
consumes SP, but increases the attack's power.

If you time your sword skill to strike right after an enemy's skill, you can stagger the
enemy. You can deal more damage to a staggered enemy.

Note: In the combat tutorial hit the enemy at the moment it casts an area attack (red
area) to stagger the enemy.

Combo ratios

A combo ratio is displayed whenever you attack an enemy. This is a damage multiplier,
so higher numbers are better. The longer your combo goes unbroken, the higher the hit
count will go, which increases the damage multiplier. The damage multiplier will also
increase when you time your slashes perfectly with the combo gauge. The more
effective your attacks are the higher the ratio will climb.

Note: In the combat tutorial hit the enemy without interuption to get to a damage
multiplier of 2.00.

Evading enemy attacks

When enemies attack, sometimes the area of effect (AoE) will be displayed. This gives
you a chance to evade the attack. While moving the Left Stick in the desired direction,
press the R button to perform a quick step. Performing a step makes you briefly
invulnerable, allowing you to evade the incoming attack.

Note: Press the left joystick to lock the target. This makes it easier to dodge and to
resume attacking.

Performing chain attacks

You can issue a variety of orders from the party command list, but one of the strongest
is the chain command. To use a team attack press and hold L button and press the sword
skill button. When ordered to perform a chain attack, your ally will perform a series of
damage multiplier-raising combo attacks. You can raise your combo ratio by unleashing
your sword skills in sync with your ally's attacks.

If your are the one to succesfully finish the chain attack, you will activate a skill chain
attack. Allies are defenseless when performing chain attacks, so stagger enemies and
parry attacks to defend them.

Note: In the combat tutorial press and hold L and press sword skill button to make an
ally start the chain, wait for your other allies to continue the chain to chain 2 and chain
3 (automatically) and then you can finish the chain with a sword skill (without the L
button). If succesfully, the message chain done! appears.

Party commands

Press the L button to bring up the party command menu. From here, you can assist allies
or chain attack with them. You can also order your allies to heal, order them to target an
enemy or even encourage them.

Switching

Switching immediately cancels all other actions to deliver a powerful blow that causes
enemies to reel. Switching allows you and an ally to swap places at critical moments,
and is great for turning the tides of battle. Unleasing a sword skill on a foe reeling from
a switch activates a powerful skill chain attack. Skill chain attacks deal massive damage
to downed enemies and they can be used to finish those enemies off for good.

Compliments

You can compliment your partner on a job well done. The name and category of your
partner's last action is displayed just below their HP gauge on the left side of the screen.
Complimenting your partner helps them remember certain actions and over time that
action will become their specialty.

Revive

When you die, an ally revives you automatically. When an ally dies, walk to your ally
and press and hold the A (switch) or o (playstation) button to revive your ally.
Exp chain bonus

Felling enemies in quick succession boosts your chain count, which grants a chain
bonus. These bonuses grow as you continue to take down enemies, but the bigger the
chain, the faster the bonus effect wears off. Just don't expect to farm weak enemies to
build a chain. Anything 10 or more levels below the party average won't count.

Main palette

The main palette is a custom control panel. Use the directional buttons to move the
cursor, and the A (switch) or o (playstation) button to use the skill. The main palette
disables certain controls while active, so be careful when using it. Open the main menu,
then choose set palette to edit the main palette.

Note: I prefer to use the command en sub palettes instead of the main palette. I will
describe my layout below, however this is a personal preference. Feel free to arrange it
the way you like.

I have arranged my set palette as follows:

Command Palette (attack)

Y / □ Regular sword attack

X / ∆ Deadly Sins

A / o Nova Ascension

B / x Jump

Note: I removed the Parry skill, because I always Dodge instead.

Sub palette left (heal)

˄ Purification Crystal
< HP Potion

> SP Potion

˅ Heal
Sub palette right (party)
Y / □ Draw aggro!

X / ∆ Use skills!

A / o Good!

B / x Switch!

Recommended battle tactic

As a summary of the above topics, I have adopted the following combat technique:
Open the fight with a normal attack.
Give tank party command: Draw aggro!.
Give one of the allies command: Use skills!
Wait for your allies to build up the skill chain to chain 3.
Finish the chain with a sword skill yourself.
Give one of the allies command: Switch!

In summary: > tank > ally > wait to chain 3 > or > ally

Repeat the chain building and switching during the battle.

If you or any ally has low HP, give party command: Heal! . Make sure that you
stand in the green area, so that you get healed.

Note: This battle style is very basic. Feel free to use more skills and a more advanced
battle style, but I have been able to finish the game with this style and it is easy to learn.

Skills

Skill points

The more you use your weapons, the more proficient you become with them. You will
acquire skill points as you reach certain thresholds of proficiency with your weapons.
On rare occasions, you may also receive skill points for defeating an enemy. You need
skill points in order to acquire more skills.

Note: If you want to collect some skill points in a short time, equip a type of weapon
that you have not used before and fight enemies that are several levels stronger than you
are.

Skill acquisition

Open the main menu and select skill to view and select skills for each weapon. Skill
points are used to acquire new skills.

Note: You can only use the skills that correspond to the equiped weapon. If you want to
use the skills of a different type of weapon, go to equipment and equip the other type of
weapon.

Extra skills

Among these skills you will find special extra skills. Extra skills are special skill trees
that encompass multiple sub skills. You can get one extra skill at a time.

Talk to Agro to unlock skill fusion, mastery skills and friends' mastery skills.

Skill fusion

Skill fusion quests are special missions that can only be undertaken by a party
consisting of you and one other character. When you want to take on a quest, team up
with your partner in the city, then use the Y (switch) or □ (playstation) button to talk to
Agro. Completing a skill fusion quest unlocks a mastery skill for you and your partner.

Mastery skills

Mastery skills grant bonus buffs to a character depending on what ex skill role they've
selected. Ex skills are divides into the following categories:
- Attacker: attacker / assassin's blade / celestial blades / soaring slash / damned blade.
- Tank: tank / sacred cross / fanged guardian
- Buffer: buffer / scout / illusion thorn
- Healer: healer / warmonger / rejuvenating touh
The longer a character has an ex skill role set, the greater their mastery skill buff
becomes.

Friends' mastery skills

Beating a skill fusion quest with a partner will enable them to use a mastery skill. Use
the ex skill option on the affection system screen to activate your friend's mastery skills.

Dual wield skill

The extra skill of the one-handed sword is celestial blades, the skill that lets you dual
wield swords.

The game is not clear about how to unlock this skill, but people on forums say you can
unlock the skill by meeting two conditions:
1. Unlock either star saber or 1H sword mastery skill.
2. Hit enemies with 2000 1H sword skills (skills that miss do not count).

Note: SS mastery indicates how often you have used a skill (both hitted and missed
unfortunately).

After you meet the conditions, you get a noticifation that says: Extra skill "Celestial
Blades" has been unlocked!

Note: I unlocked mine with the following SS mastery points: horizontal arc 1626
points, deadly sins 632 points, nova ascension 18 points and all the other skills 0 points.
So about 12% of my skills missed... to give you an indication.

The skill celestial blades costs 15 skill points to learn. Press the B (switch) or x
(playstation) button to change extra skill.

Go to your equipment and replace your shield with a sword. This changes your main
skill from 1H sword to dual blades.
>

Note: If you want to change back to 1H sword as your main skill, replace the second
sword with a shield again.

Dual wield skill tree

Each extra skill starts at skill level zero and has its own skill tree.
Note: Once you change your main skill from 1H sword to dual blades, you can only use
skills from the extra skill tree. You can't use the skills from 1H sword any more.

Overview extra skills

Each type of weapon has its own extra skill. The conditions for unlocking these skills
are unknown to me, but you can search the internet with the search term: sword art
online hollow realization hidden extra skills. Unfortunately the information is
sometimes contradictory and it is difficult to find out the truth.

I have made a list of the types of weapons with corresponding extra skills.

Navigation

Map screen

Press A (switch) or o (playstation) button in front of a teleportation gate in the Town of

Beginnings to bring up the world map and select your destination. The number of
destinations you can choose from is limited at first, but it will grow as you progress
through the game.

Teleportation stones

You can use the teleportation gate to travel to places directly by finding the teleportation
stone in the area. When exploring a new area, your first objective should always be
finding and activating the teleportation stone. Be advised, however, that not every area
has a teleportation stone.

Find the main story quest destination

Select the world map at the teleportation gate. Here you can see in which of the
available areas your quest is.

Select the area and a map of this area appears. Select the teleportation stone where the
quest marker is located.

Now you will travel to the selected area. Look at your minimap to find your exact quest
location.
Note: The default minimap is a simple map. Go to the main menu, select options and
set the minimap to detailed map to get a more detailed minimap.

Inn room

You have a room at the inn located in the Market Street. The room is on the second
floor of the inn. Here, you can change your avatar's appearance, or take a nap on the
bed. The teleporter in your room allows you access to multiplayer/duel practice, and lets
you edit your preset palettes.

At your inn room you can interact with the following furniture:
- Door: enter or exit your room.
- Bed: rest until daytime or nighttime.
- Desk: edit avatar.
- Stone with runes: access multiplayer, duel practice, preset palette settings, start ssc
practice and warehouse.
- Chest: access storage.

Inventory / vendors

Bag

The game does not explain anything about your inventory. A bit later in the game, this
becomes a problem. Your bag can only carry 100 items. This seems much, but it really
is not. My advise is to store your items in your storage.

Storage
You can acces your warehouse at the Teleport Gate Plaza. Press A (switch) or o
(playstation) button in front of a teleportation gate in the Town of Beginnings. This
opens a menu where you can select warehouse. Select an item to send it to your storage.
Your storage can hold 1000 items.

Note: If you need an item for a quest or for the weaponsmith you don't have to take it
out of your storage first. You can directly get it from your storage when you turn in the
quest of when you talk to your weaponsmith.

You can also go to your storage in your room at the inn. There is a chest in your room,
which grands you access to your storage.

Shady merchant

The shady merchant will exchange certain tradable items for valuable ones. Items that
you can use to trade with the shady merchant are listed on the special item tab.
Treasure chests

Treasure chests are scattered all over the world. Brown treasure chests can be opened
again after re-entering the area. You will also encounter blue chests, but these have been
sealed shut by a powerful enemy that is nearby. Sealed chests will refresh their contents
periodically, so you can collect from them multiple times. Items change each time. If
luck is on your side, you might get a powerful item to help you on the journey ahead.
Try opening every chest you find!

Note: There is an error in the tutorial, namely the brown chest can only be opened once.

Money

The game does not explain anything about money. The currency is col.

You can make money with the following things:

- Complete side quests of the bulletin board.
- Sell equipment and items to vendors.
- Farm certain monsters that drop valuable items.
- Go on a treasure hunt in areas with many reopenable treasure chests.

Note: If these tips are too general for you, you can also find enough forums on the
internet with specific tips on how to get col.

Equipment / blacksmith

The color indicates the rarity of the equipment.

Blacksmith enhancing and transforming

Take any materials you find to a blacksmith, and you can use them to enhance or
transform your weapons. Enhancing a weapon strengthens it and grants it a special skill
that can only be applied by a blacksmith. Transformations use the materials you've
gathered to create an entirely new weapon or piece of equipment. Transformations in
particular may also grant a rare skill, in addition to boosting stats. The catch is that
transformations require rare materials, and those materials will be lost if the
transformation fails.

Note: If you want Lisbeth as your blacksmith, find her in town and select engage
blacksmith from her menu. Later in the game she opens her own blacksmith shop,
which can be found in Market Street. Talk to the female shopkeeper at the stall to call
Lisbeth.

Enhance

When you enhance a weapon, you upgrade the weapon and +1 is added to the name of
the weapon. When you enhance the weapon more often, the counter increases to +2, +3
and so on. You can boost the weapon up to +9. You will then receive the notification:
Cannot be enhanced any further.

You get to keep the weapon, but you will lose the materials used for the enhancement.

Transform

When you transform a weapon, you create a new weapon and the name of the weapon
changes. When you transform the weapon more often, it is even possible that the rarity
is increased so that the color changes.

You will lose both your weapon and the materials used and you get a new weapon in
exchange.

Fuse sacrament

When you fuse a sacrament with a weapon, you add a sacrament stone to one of the
slots of the weapon. This will add the stats of the sacrament stone to the weapon.

Note: You get the sacrament stones as a quest result of completing a dungeon.

First choose your weapon, then choose the sacrament stone, after that choose which
weapon slot you want to add the sacrament stone in and confirm your choice to fuse the
sacrement.
Blacksmith skill levels

Blacksmiths can be found in various areas. Some are skilled at enhancements, while
others are skilled at transformations. Most important is their smithing skill level. High-
level enhancements and transformations require high skill levels. Blacksmiths raise their
smithing skill by doing their job, so be sure to frequent the blacksmith who has the
skills you're looking for, in order to help them improve.

Master strokes

Smithy skills are now capable of performing magnificent work with a master stroke.
Blacksmithing now has a 100% success rate. All skills/items that boosted success rate
now boost the change of a master stroke. When a master stroke is performed, all
parameters increased during blacksmithing are set to max. Get multiple master strokes
on the same item to create weapons of extreme power.

Fusing left hand item

The effects of fusing a sacrament to an item in your left hand has changed. Sacraments
fused when dual wielding or when using a shield now have their effects applied
normally. When fusing a sacrament to a two-handed weapon, all stats excluding special
effects are tripled.

Party / friends

Making new friends

Whenever you find someone you get along well with, press Y (switch) or □
(playstation) button and select form party to invite them to join you. You probably
shouldn't invite complete strangers to join your party, though. Strike up a conversation
first. Getting to know people lets you invite them out on a walk, where private chats
will increase your affinity with them.

Note: If you need to find a specific character, enter the main menu and go to friend.
Search for the characters name and use the R button to find out the location of the
character.

Inviting allies to your party

Generally, you can take up to three friends with you when venturing outside town. You
can ask someone to join your party if your affinity with them is 3 or higher. Invite them
to your party either by speaking to them directly or by selecting their name on your
friends list.

Note: You don't have to level all the members on your friends list. As you progress in
the story, the characters automatically level up. So feel free to choose your party
however you like.

Party member equipment

What the game forgets to explain, is that you can give your party members equipment.
In the beginning you can only give a weapon, but when your friendship grows stronger,
you can also give other equipment.

Find your party member in the Town of Beginnings, press Y (switch) or □ (playstation)
button for the menu, select go for a walk, select thanks, press Y/□ button again, select
give present and select the weapon that you want to give. Use the tabs to give shield,
head, armor and greaves equipment as well.

Improving other characters

Whenever a cursor is displayed on another player, you can press X (switch) or ∆

(playstation) button to bring up the character analysis screen. Here you can view
information about that character's stats and extra skills. In the center is the affection
system, which measures the intensity of the player's emotions. The attitude icon and
ratings tell you about their current mood. This affects how they fight, or act when in
town. This also ties in to how they develop, both in terms of what they find easy to learn
and what they are proactive about.

Character's extra skills

You can switch between status and extra skill displays on the character analysis screen.
Ex skill trees display what ex skills a character has acquired. Skills that are grayed out
have not yet been acquired. Ex skill level increases when the character uses that skill.
Increase a character's ex skill to increase the skill's duration.

Affection system

The attitude ratings, which have a large effect on a player's personality, are displayed in
the affection system. These affect how quickly they develop, their level of agression in
combat, and their reactions to private chats. You will only catch fleeting glimpses of
their true nature, but you can lock that in to influence their development. Some
combinations of attitude ratings unlock special abilities. Your actions have a profound
impact on these special characteristics, so they are likely to change a great deal.

Affection system circle

The large circle in the center of the screen is calles the affection system circle. It can
contain a max of 6 icons. The development of an emotion is displayed below its icon.
Compliments during battle strengthen emotions.

The emotion icons special effects are listed next to effect. Select an emotion to open the
help window and see what type of effect it has.

Emotion strength

The strength of each character's emotions is displayed above the affection system circle.
Increasing their strength will increase their efficacy in battle.

You can encourage certain emotions. When you encourage an emotion, a special icon
will appear beside it, indicating that it will not weaken. Emotions you don't encourage
will weaken every day until they completely disappear. Encourage emotions you want
to foster.

Emotions strengthen until they risk spilling out of the affection system circle. If a
character is unable to increase any further, "max" will appear near the emotion icon. If
you want to strengthen a certain emotion, you will have to weaken others. When all
these icons are pressed close against each other, there's no more room for further
emotional growth.

Screen changes

Strength of individual emotions are denoted within the affection system circle. This
indicates a character's personality as a whole, and fluctuates depending on the emotions
that the character feels. A character's reaction time will speed up as their emotions grow
and develop. Faster reactions mean that they will think and act quicker in combat. You
can switch between status and ex skill windows. Ex skill level increases when the
character uses that skill. Increase a character's ex skill to increase the skill's duration. If
there's a skill that the character has acquired that you don't want to use, you can
configure that as well.

You are now able to assign stars to certain skills if a character's emotion strength is high
enough. The more stars they have, the more often they will use their ex skill. You can
now change the ex skill set for a character from the status window. Changing an ex skill
will reset the level of the ex skill currently equipped.

Private chats

These icons (located above your friend's head) indicate places where you can skip
the small talk and have a more intimate conversation with your friend. Here, your friend
can relax and really tell you what's on their mind. You can also react positively or
negatively. If you react in a way that matches your friend's feelings, you'll make them
happy and deepen your friendship.

Private chat locations

Teleport Gate Plaza: teleportation gate, black palace respawn point and bulletin board.

Inn: tables with four chairs.

Your inn room: bookcases, table with four chairs, table with two chairs and kitchen.

Note: Ringing the bell in the Scenic Overlook while you are alone will reveal hints
about date conversations.

Changes in feeling

You can take several actions during private chat. Using the left stick to move close to an
opponent, by directly facing them, you can use an aggressive approach. You'll put your
friend in a bad mood if you do something out of line, but if your timing is right, you'll
see your friend's feelings change. You may even be able to make different moves as
your friend gets to know you.

The different feelings are ordered in the following ranking:

Rank 1: normal.
Rank 2: entertained and excited.
Rank 3: happy, connected and romantic.
Rank 4: playful, blissful and intimate.

The rank 4 feelings grant date buffs.

Princess carry and pillow talk

Once your friend warms up to you, you'll be able to hold hands or carry them in your
arms in public. Taking them to your room at the inn while performing either actions
allows you to have very intimate conversations. You can engage in pillow talk if you
max out their feelings while having a conversation on the bed. Friends who do not know
you well will not consent to pillow talk. You must get to know them first.

Quests

Quest offers

There are several quest offers posted on the bulletin boards around town. You may
accept several quests at a time. Quests can be completed while out on other missions, so
take on a quest that requires travel to whichever area you're visiting. Return to the
bulletin board after completing a quest to collect its reward. Quests award money or
valuable items.
Note: There are two types of quests. One type is to defeat certain enemies, the other
type is to gather ingredients. In case of the defeat enemies quests you need to accept the
quest, defeat the enemies and complete the quest. In case of the gather ingredients
quests you don't have to accept the quest before you go gathering. It is possible to
complete the quest directly if you already have the required ingredients.
Note: In case of the gather quests, check if you can miss the items before handing them
in. A large number of these items are also used by a blacksmith to enhance or transform
your equipment.

Event fragments

If you enter an area marked with a colored circle on the map, it will trigger an event
fragment. There are several types of event fragments, each with their own set of
objectives. These quests drop materials and treasure chests when completed, so be sure
to take them on when you see them.

Note: You can recognize event fragment enemies by the crossed swords icon in front of
their name.

Episodic quests

If you meet the objectives and complete an event fragment, it will trigger the next part
of that quest. The enemies that appear in these quests are incredibly powerful and they
may grant you a rare item upon completion. They will not be easy, but you should give
them a try once you and your allies are strong enough.

Events

Event icons

Event icons will appear on the map and over character's heads whenever an event can be
triggered. It is generally a good idea to seek out event icons if you wish to advance the
story.

main story event

side event

sacrament invasion event

If you forget where you are going of what you are doing, select event list from the main
menu to remind yourself.

Note: If you need to find a specific character that starts an event, enter the main menu
and select friend. Search for the characters name and use the R button to find out the
location of the character.

Boss

Boss fights

The bosses that control each area are physically massive and incredibly powerful. The
best strategy is to target specific parts of the boss in an attempt to inflict knockdown.
This is because, in most cases, inflicting knockdown will expose weak points or targets
that were out of range. Cooperating with your party members is essential, as destroying
two parts of a boss simultaniously is necessary at times.

Raids

You can merge your party with another party or parties during boss fights to create a
raid party. There are two things to be aware of when fighting in a raid party: boss part
assignments and boss attack evasion. This is crucial to ensuring that parts of the boss get
destroyed, knocking it down and opening it up to massive damage.

Bosses typically wield attacks that deal massive damage and have a large AoE, so it's
important to fight tactically. That means knowing when to tell your allies to evade so
they don't get hit.

Edit your raid party

Edit your raid party for the boss battle. You can choose from 4 options:
- Full raid: you and 3 other parties.
- 3 person party: you and 2 other parties.
- 2 person party: you and 1 other party.
- Solo: you fight alone.

Last attack bonus

If you land the last attack, you get the last attack bonus.

Note: Don't worry if you don't get the bonus at your first try. You can fight the boss
once more, just go back to the boss room.

Multiplayer

Multiplayer mode

You can play SAO: HR with people from all around the world. Up to 4 players can join
a single party. Each can bring along a partner for a total party size of 8. You must first
unlock multiplayer by playing the game. The multiplayer option unlocks after you
defeat the first region boss (at Rustoria Plains). Then, select multiplayer form the title
screen. Head to the multiplayer lobby.

Union mode

Up to 4 players and their partners (total of 8 players) may adventure together in union
mode. Select "form a party" to become the party leader (host) and search for allies to
play with. You can also join an existing party by selecting "find a party" or "quick
match". Choosing solo will allow you and your partner to play up to 6 other characters
in union mode.

When your party is ready, you can embark on an adventure in Ainground. To do this,
the host must speak to the receptionist at the multiplayer counter and select a
destination. Step through the exit on the right once the host player has selected a
location to begin your adventure. Use the lounge exit on the Market Street to exit union
mode or leave the lobby you are currently in.

Sacrament invasion / dungeons

Game mode

In this game mode, you must defend areas from attack while fulfilling objectives. It is
important to find a good balance between offense and defense. You can run this mode
as both single and multiplayer.

Note: Sacrament invasion becomes available after you defeat the monster (dark
immortal) at the Oldrobe Forest.

Sacrament invasion is intended for high-level players. Characters level 50 or above are
recommended. Sacrament invasion is recommended for large groups of players. Form a
party of 4 or more to proceed. To progress further, you must first beat Fuldum Trail in
the main game. After entering the Fuldum Trail, you may access this content again from
the map teleporter.

Fuldum Trail

The Fuldum Trail starts when you go to the dungeon in the Fuldum Trail area. This is a
tutorial dungeon and the recommended level is level 50. The map below indicates where
you need to be (player cursor location).
The mission is to break the seal and defeat the boss, while defending three key points
(red, blue and green).

After you complete the trail, head back to the inn. You will get a background story
about these dungeons.

After completion of the trail

Now you can do other dungeons. You can recognize a dungeon on the map by the
dungeon icons.

Change appearance

Change avater

You can go to your room at the inn to edit your avatar. Select action at your desk and
select edit avatar.

Change battle equipment

The pseudo-tailor lets you change your appearance without changing your battle
equipment. The pseudo-tailor can only change the head, body and leg equipment
appearance.

Note: The pseudo-tailer is located in front of the armor shop that belongs to Speedy.

Visualize attire

Head to the tailor in town to edit your armor's appearance without changing its base
stats. Do your favorite armor and adventure in style! To deactivate, go to the main
menu, select equipment and select turn visualize off.

Visualize attire (ally)

You can visualize the attire of your allies to change their armor's appearance. First
partner with the ally in town, then head to the tailor to change their appearance. To
deactivate, press the Y (switch) or □ (playstation) to talk to your partner, and choose
"restore visuals".

Changes to game mechanics

The Warriors of the Sky update includes a number of changes to game mechanics.

Changed action elements

Sword skills have been adjusted. Attributes have been added to sword skills, while
adjustments have been made to activation, recovery and attack range. Steps have been
adjusted. Forward steps are now faster. Sidestep invulnerability time has been increased,
but distance traveled has been decreased.

Guarding

It is now possible to guard with every weapon. Press the L button to guard. Guarding
allows you to drastically reduce the damage dealt to you by enemy attacks. However,
SP will be consumed in its place. Guarding with a shield instead of a weapon greatly
increases the damage reduction. If guarding would cause you to lose more SP than you
have, guarding will fail and you will take damage.

SP charging

Hold the step button (R button) while guarding (L button) to charge and recover SP.

Guard break

Some sword skills are now able to break the opponent's guard and deal damage to them.
See skill descriptions to see if they possess guard breaking effects.

Raging pulse

When in danger, players can execute a counterattack to knock back enemies. This can
be used while knocked down, stunned or recovering from a guarded attack, letting you
quickly counterattack.

Menu changes

The main menu has been updated. Set palette (duel) has been added to the main menu.
Use the X button to display the event list. Log has also changed to log/chat. The
position of the keyboard chat window has also been adjusted.

Changes in update 3

Sacremant invasion update 3 contains several fixes and adjustments.

Changes to battle
Sword skills, mastery effect and the upper levels of the combo route have all been
tweaked. It is now easier to modify certain sword skill attacks using the left stick on
your controller. Felling enemies in quick succession boosts your chain count, which
grants a chain bonus. There is now a small chance that an ultana gold piece will drop
with each chain bonus earned.

Changes to dungeons

Some rare items now have a higher chance of dropping in all sacrament invasion
dungeons. The rewards for dungeons from updates 1 and 2 have been tweaked. You can
now acquire more powerful equipment. The update number in which each dungeon was
introduced is now written above its icon on the map screen.

Changes to multiplayer

Union mode and duel mode have been adjusted. Higher difficulties now increase the
drop rate in union mode. In addition, parties with more members will also enjoy higher
drop rates. Partners and characters that play with you in multiplayer's solo mode do not
increase your drop rate. Landing a sword skill attack following a guard break or after
successfully blocking a sword skill will stagger your opponent. This will cause "weak"
to appear. Attacks on weakened enemies deal additional damage.

Lord of the inferno

The lord of the inferno, rumoring among players to be an invincible boss, has descended
upon the land! You may challenge the lord of the inferno once you have completed
warrios of the sky. Complete the main story and then select continue form the title
screen to play warriors of the sky.

Other

Multiplayer and palette set presets can now be set from the teleporter in the Plaza or
your room. You can now access duel mode form the Town of Beginnings. Select duel
practice form the teleporter.

Rustoria Plains
Explore outside town

Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza and use the teleportation gate to go to the Great Plains of
Rustoria. Navigate to the quest marker on your map. An event fragment starts. Defeat
the enemies of the event fragment. When you defeated them all, you get a message
"knowledge acquired". After that go back to town.

Head to the inn that's on Market Street. After you read more about the main story line,
you get to watch the intro cutscene.
Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza. An NPC will join you automatically. Use the
teleportation gate to leave town. Defeat the 3 Bumpkin Boars.

A default party is chosen for you: Asuna, Silica and Lisbeth. If you want another party,
go to the friends list in your main menu and press L button to select or deselect party
members.

Note: You don't have to level all the members on your friends list. As you progress in
the main story, the characters automatically level up. So feel free to choose your party
however you like.

Gather materials for Lisbeth

Enter the world map, select Rustoria Plains and select Phoeniath Knoll.

Note: You can only select teleportation destinations you have visited before. Don't
forget to activate the teleportation stone when you arrive at a new destination.

Walk to Centallia Rise. The transition from Phoeniath Knoll to Centallia Rise is at the
white dotted line.

Note: Since you have a party now, you can defeat enemies that are higher level than
you are. For example I defeated the level 13 boar when I was only level 4. Remember
to use your party (with L button), dodge AoE (red area) and create combo chains to deal
a lot of damage.
When you get to Centallia Rise, you can see the quest marker on your minimap. Go to
the quest marker. After that, go back to town. You can use on of the teleporter stones
and select return to town.

Note: You don't have to walk back to the teleportation stone. Go to the main menu,
select map and choose a teleportation stone to fast travel to this location.

Exit the inn to continue the main story.

Start Premiere's quest

Find Asuna in town and talk to her.

Note: If you need to find a specific character that starts an event, enter the main menu
and select friend. Search for the characters name and use the R button to find out the
location of the character.

Defeat the NM: Chaos Ash.

This is the first point in the game where it is not entirely clear how to proceed with the
story. The event list states: Keep exploring to find info on Premiere's quest. And on the
map there is no quest marker. Go to the Teleportation Gate Plaza to continue the story.

Remove the roadblocks

Teleport to Lake Steschal or walk there from Centallia Rise. Go to the quest marker
location on your minimap.

The next quest objective is to figure out how to get the wrecked golem out of the way.
The quest marker tells you to go to Pazirius Wildwood, so teleport or walk there. You
have to search for an item to use on the golem. Go to the quest marker location. Defeat
the NM: Lost Brain Golem to obtain the item (giant's heart). Head back to Lake
Steschal, use the item on the wrecked golem and defeat it.

Go through the gate to Sophinastrum Gorge and walk to Mimariana Pass. Go to the
quest marker location repeatedly. You need to find two items to make gunpowder to
blow up the rocks. The first one is a blastweed seed, which can be found outside of the
entrance to the mine. The other one is a dragon's talon, which you get from defeating a
dragon located to the west of the mine.

Go back to Sophinastrum Gorge and head to the north for the blastweed seed at the
quest marker location.

Now you have to find the second item, but no quest marker is visible. The description
says you have to go to the west of the mine, but that is a quite misleading. Teleport to
Fuldum Trail or walk there through Mimariana Pass. The map below indicates where
you need to be (quest marker location). Defeat the dragon to get the dragon's talon.
Once you have both items, return to the NPC in Mimariana Pass. The gunpowder
removes the rocks and you can go ahead to Lakai Sheske Valley.

The quest marker sends you to Castle Arktarium: Gate. To get there you need to go
south in the Lakai Sheske Valley. Continue to the next area, you will end up in Horvath
Cavern. In Horvath Cavern travel to the east. Continue to the next area, you will get to
Castle Arktarium: Gate, which is the next quest location.

Explore the castle

Teleport (or walk) to Castle Arktarium: Gate. At the gate you get a warning from other
players that the enemies in the castle are stronger than usual. If you have problems
because of this, I recommend to take a look at your equipment and to level up a bit. To
give you a guideline: level 13 or higher.

Note: A great piece of equipment at this point in the game is GE Crossover Outfit
(Soma) (Strong). You can buy it at Speedy's shop in the Market Street for 2000 col.

When you go through the gate you enter the castle. The first area is called Castle
Arktarium: 1F. Continue to the next area, which is Castle Arktarium: 2F. At this area
you see a quest marker on the minimap, so go there. It will trigger an event fragment.
Defeat the 2 enemies and you get the Victor's crest item.

There is a seal at the gate to the next area. Use the crest to remove the seal and go
through the gate.
Rustoria Plains region boss

Travel to Antechamber. Here is the boss room.

General info

It's called the Weiss the Kobolt Lord. It's huge, and every attack it unleashes will take a
huge chunk out of your HP.

Dangers

It can inflict the bleed debuff if it hits you with its giant sword. Make sure to dodge!

Strategies

If we want to take it out, we'll have to destroy its knees and knock it down. Once it's
knocked down, it'll be easier to hit its weak point: its belly.

Recommended level

Level 12 or higher.

If you are ready to try fighting the boss, select fight the boss. Choose your raid party
and the fight will start.
Last attack bonus

If you land the last attack, you get the last attack bonus. The last attack bonus reward for
this boss is Moon Stone Pendant.

Note: Don't worry if you don't get the bonus at your first try. You can fight the boss
once more, just go back to the boss room.
You defeated the boss for this area. A new area has been unlocked. You may access it
from the teleportation gate in town.

Rustoria Plains complete map

At the end of the story in a specific area, the map of the entire area is unlocked. I add
this map at the end of the section to avoid spoilers. If you are ever stuck in an area, look
ahead in this walkthrough to see the total map of the area.
 Previous: Town of Beginnings
 Next: Oldrobe Forest

Oldrobe Forest
Explore the forest

Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza and you will automatically go to the Great Forest of
Oldrobe.

At the start, there is no quest marker visible. The event list states: Explore downstairs.
This means you have to take the stairs in the tower. This tower is behind you when you
start in this area.

The monster in this tower is too strong. You need to disrupt a ceremony, so that the
monster is no longer invulnerable. Leave the tower.
Stop the ceremony

The quest marker sends you to Teim Valais Estuary. Since you have just arrived in the
new area and have not yet activated any teleportation gates, you will have to walk.

You start in Grillim Forest. Head east and continue to the next area, which is called
Daaseck Wilds. Go north in the Daaseck Wilds. Continue to the next area, you will end
up in Stragerzeet Spring. Stragerzeet Spring has no clear transition to the next area, like
the other areas. Go to the tower. The map below indicates where you need to be (player
cursor location).

Take the stairs and walk through the tunnel. Continue to the next area, you will get to
Teim Valais Estuary, which is the quest location. Navigate to the quest marker on your
map. You can't go further at this point, because poisonous fog blocks the way.
Head back to town. You end up in your room at the inn. Exit the room to continue the
story.

Defeat the 3 Bumpkin Boars.

Check out the bulletin board on Market Street. You need to find the antivenom crystal
to dispel the poison fog. Teleport to Vendallim Mistforest or walk there from Teim
Valais Estuary (head east). Go to quest marker on your minimap. It will trigger an event
fragment. Defeat the enemies and you get the antivenom crystal item.

Teleport to Teim Valais Estuary and go back to the tower. Here, the crystel dispels the
poison fog. Enter the tower, go downstairs and walk through the tunnel. You end up in
Valkyr Weald. The quest marker on the minimap indicates the location of the ceremony.

Defeat the NM: Bringer of Chaos to stop the ceremony. After that, the monster is no
longer invulnerable. Head back to the tower in Grillim Forest to defeat the monster.

Defeat the Dark Immortal. After that, you can move on to Felldart Passage. Head back
to town and stop by at Liz's shop.

Note: Your blackwing coat and blackwing boots will be enhanced, so check out if you
want to equip them.

Continue Premiere's quest

Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza and use the teleportation gate to continue the story.
Defeat the NM: Violent Centicore.

Go to the inn to continue the story. The quest marker sends you to the Ruins of Lufont.
Teleport to the ruins. If you need to walk there through the Felldart Passage (head west).
Here is the transition from the passage to Kark.

Kark has no clear transition to the next area. Go to the tower at the northwest. The map
below indicates where you need to be (player cursor location). This tower is the passage
to the Ruins of Lunfont.

Stop the poison rain

Go to the Ruins of Lufont. You notice that toxic rain falls in this area. The next quest
objective is to find a way to stop the poison rain. Go to quest marker at the middle of
your minimap. Here, you find out that a ceremony keeps the rain going on.
Go to the next quest marker location. Destroy the 3 pillars. After that, the rain stops.

Go to the tower at the north in the Ruins of Lufont. This tower leads to Rainline Grotto:
1F. The map below indicates where you need to be (player cursor location).
When you get there, you remember that you have a date with Asuna. Return to town.
You end up in your room at the inn. Exit the inn to continue the story.

Explore the grotto

The quest marker sends you to Rainline Grotto: 3F. Teleport to Rainline Grotto: 1F and
walk from there. Continue to the next area, which is Rainline Grotto: 2F. There is a seal
at the gate to the next area. You must defeat a mini boss to remove the seal.

Defeat the NM: Darkness's Wrath.

After defeating the mini boss, the seal breaks. Continue to the next area, you will get to
Rainline Grotto: 3F, which is the next quest location.

Note: Since the second region boss is ahead, it's smart to spend your skill points now, if
you haven't already done that.

Oldrobe Forest region boss

Travel to Rainline Grotto: 3F. Here is the boss room.

General info

It's called the Grimm the Provident. The main body is dangerous enough, but it's also
got two phantom limbs, that can attack one after the other.

Dangers
Watch out for its horizontal, swiping attacks. There's a delayed AoE attack that comes
after it slashes. It's really powerful, so definitely avoid that.

Strategies

Destroy the main body's arms first. The phantom limbs will start attacking like crazy.
You can destroy the limbs when they attack. That'll knock it down and let you hit its
weak point: its head.

Recommended level

Level 19 or higher.

If you are ready to try fighting the boss, select fight the boss. Choose your raid party
and the fight will start.

Last attack bonus

The last attack bonus reward for this boss is Twilight Ring.
You defeated the boss for this area. A new area has been unlocked. You may access it
from the teleportation gate in town.

Continue Premiere's quest again

Leave the inn to continue the story. Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza, interact with the
teleportation gate, select go and you will go to Grillim Forest.

The quest marker sends you to Lokitalluh Ascent, but you can't use the teleportation
stones, so you have to walk there. Enter the tower right behind you. This will take you
to Felldart Passage. Here, you take the eastsouth tower to get to Mee Forest. Head
northeast and continue to the next area, which is Lokitalluh Ascent.
Oldrobe Forest complete map

The complete map of the area.

It can be unclear what the connections are due to the amount of towers, so I have added
a map of these connections below.
 Previous: Rustoria Plains
 Next: Jeweled Peaks Lakes

Jeweled Peaks Lakes

Explore the lake

Leave the inn to continue the story. Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza and you will
automatically go to the Jeweled Peaks Lakes.

You start at Lynex Waterway. Go northeast and continue to the nex area. The next area
is called One Fall Cataract and this is the next quest location. Go to the quest marker on
your minimap.

Activate the teleporter

You find some sort of teleporter, but it doesn't work.

You need to find seals and break those. Each seal is guarded by a monster, so defeat the
monster in order to break the seal.

The first seal is in One Fall Cataract. Defeat the NM: Furnace Dragon that guards the
seal.

After defeating the dragon, the seal breaks and you acquire the wind glyph item. The
pattern on the item is the same as the one carved in the teleporter. Collect the four
glyphs to activate the teleporter.

Continue to the next area, which is called Marceiville Water Caves. This is the location
of the second seal. Defeat the NM: Nightmare Gremlin that guards the seal. After
defeating the gremlin, the seal breaks and you acquire the earth glyph item.

Continue to the next area. Apparently it has become late and you have to return to town.
You end up in your room at the inn. Exit the room to continue the story.

After this, use the teleportation gate to teleport to Turinble Road. This is the location of
the third seal. Defeat the NM: Maddened Aberration that guards the seal. After
defeating the aberration, the seal breaks and you acquire the fire glyph item.

There is no quest marker leading you to the location of the fourth glyph and you have
two options to continue to a next area (one south and one west). Take the south one,
which leads to Paffati Hall. Defeat the NM: Urchin Crab that guards the seal. After
defeating the crab, the seal breaks and you acquire the water glyph item.
You get a message from Yui, so return to town. After that, head to One Fall Cataract
and activate the teleporter.

Explore the fastille

When you use the teleporter, you warp to La Fastille: Main Gate.

Note: When you arrive, make sure to turn around and activate the teleportation stone
behind the red teleporter.

Walk up the garden path and continue to the next area. You enter the west side of the
garden. The path in the garden is quite straight forward. Keep walking through the
garden and keep going to the next area. The order in which you walk through the
gardens is: west, south and sacred hall. The story continues when you continue to the
next area from La Fastille: Sacret Hall.

Search for another path

Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza and use the teleportation gate to teleport to Paffati Hall.
Go to the quest marker on the minimap. Here, the glyphs turn into an object and
summon a monster.

Defeat the NM: Medusa Jelly.

The rocks that blocked the road are gone and you can continue to the next area. This
area is Tribei Feireese Lake Way and the next quest location. Go to the quest marker on
the minimap.

Defeat the NM: The Cosmic Eye.

After defeating the eye, the seal breaks and you acquire the dark glyph item.

This means that there is another kind of teleporter. The quest marker sends you to
Turinble Road. Teleport there and walk to the quest marker on the minimap. Here you
find a teleporter, but a green one instead of a red one.
Select warp and you end up in La Fernaste Park. Go to the quest marker on the
minimap.

Defeat the NM: The Devourer of Souls.

After defeating the devourer, the seal breaks and you acquire the light glyph item.
Teleport to Tribei Feireese Lake Way. Go to the quest marker on the minimap. You find
yet another teleporter, also a green one.

Select warp and you end up in Cranvede Path. Head back to town and talk with
Premiere. Add her to your party. Talk to her and select lead the way.

Defeat the NM: Force of Nature.

After that, the quest marker sends you to La Fastille: Rear Gate.

Note: Your party now consists of Asuna and Premiere, so before you travel to the next
location, make sure to change your party back to the way you like it.

Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza and use the teleportation gate to teleport to Cranvede
Path. You have two options to continue to a next area (one south and one east). Take the
south one, which leads to Shangil Reservoir. Go to the quest marker on your minimap.

Defeat the NM: Demonic Reaper.

After defeating the reaper, the seal breaks and you acquire the void glyph item. The
corresponding teleporter is in Cedol Lake. Teleport there or take the east exit in
Cranvede Path to get there. This teleporter warps you to La Fastille: Rear Gate.

Explore the fastille further

When you use the teleporter, you warp to La Fastille: Rear Gate.

Note: When you arrive, make sure to turn around and activate the teleportation stone
behind the green teleporter.

Walk up the garden path and continue to the next area. You enter the east side of the
garden. The path in the garden is quite straight forward. Keep walking through the
garden and keep going to the next area. The order in which you walk through the
gardens is: east, north and sacret hall.

The area transition from north to sacret hall is blocked with a seal. Defeat the NM:
Topaz Star. After defeating the mini boss and the other hornets, the seal breaks.

Note: Make sure to also defeat the other hornets, because the seal doesn't break when
one of the other hornets is not defeated yet.

Go to the quest marker in La Fastille: Sacret Hall. Head back to town and make yourself
ready for the region boss fight.
Jeweled Peaks Lakes region boss

Travel to La Fastille: Sacret Hall. Here is the boss room.

General info

It's called the Summum, Servant of Fate. While battling this boss, you'll notice that it
switches between 2 different forms.

Dangers

When you destory a leg, it'll switch forms. You need to take out all of its legs at once to
bring it down. So weaken them first, then destory all four legs in one fell swoop before
it can transform.

Strategies

Its head is its weak point, but it's too high to reach. Even jumping won't get you close
enough. You'll have to destroy all 4 of its legs first. When it hits the ground, that's when
you whomp on it.

Recommended level

Level 27 or higher.

If you are ready to try fighting the boss, select fight the boss. Choose your raid party
and the fight will start.

Last attack bonus

The last attack bonus reward for this boss is Belt of Metatron.
You defeated the boss for this area. A new area has been unlocked. You may access it
from the teleportation gate in town.

 Previous: Oldrobe Forest
 Next: Kurjiez Desert

Kurjiez Desert
Explore the desert

Leave the inn to continue the story. Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza and you will
automatically go to the Kurjiez Desert.

You start at Southern Ultana Desert. You have two options to continue to a next area
(one north and one east). Take the north one, which leads to Northern Ultana Desert.
Head north and continue to the next area. The next area is called Urond Dunes and this
is the next quest location. Go to the quest marker on your minimap.

Defeat the Swarmbugs.

The quest marker indicates that you must be in Urond Dunes, but there is no quest
marker on your minimap. Head east and continue to the next area, which is called Ruel
Wellspring. Here, you get a message from Yui, so head back to town.

Find the console

The quest marker sends you to Garoon Sandstone Tunnel. Go to the Teleport Gate Plaza
and use the teleportation gate to go to Ruel Wellspring. This area has four exits:
northwest, north, northeast and east. Take the northeast one, which leads to Garoon
Sandstone Tunnel. Go to the quest marker on your minimap.

All the crystals are blocking the path. Since the console is on the other side, you have to
find a way through. You need the resonant bell item to shatter all the crystals. The quest
marker sends you to Trie Modragal Pass for this item.
The Garoon Sandstone Tunnel area has four exits: southwest, northwest, north and
southeast. Take the southeast one, which leads to Trie Modragal Pass.

Note: The northwest and north exit are unreachable as long as the crystals block the
way.

Go to the quest marker on your minimap. Here is the skeleton of the dragon. Walk to
the head of the skeleton.
Defeat the NM: Legendary Fencer. After that, you find the resonant bell item.

Return to the crystals in Garoon Sandstone Tunnel. The resonance from the bell shatters
the crystals. Take the north exit to Remetta Excavation. You find a teleporter at the
quest marker location.
Use it to warp. Defeat the NM: Demon Lord. After that, the seal breaks. Continue and
you will find the console. Return to town to tell Yui.

Continue Premiere's quest further

Invite Premiere to your party. Teleport to Bana'varon Wastes or walk to this area from
Ruel Wellspring (north exit). Go to the quest marker on your minimap.

Defeat the NM: Explosive Gigas.

Talk to Premiere to continue the story.

The quest marker sends you to Calt Blanc Way. Teleport to Ruel Wellspring and take
the east exit to Calt Blanc Way. However, you're not there yet. Take the southwest exit
to continue to the next area. Go to the quest marker on your minimap. You can't go
further because a tornado blocks the way.

Get through the tornado

You need the wind talisman item to get through the tornado. Another player tells you
that the reaper to the west of the cave drops the item.

Teleport to Gebuerno or walk to this area from Garoon Sandstone Tunnel (northwest
exit). There is no quest marker on your minimap, but you have the description of the
player. The enemy reaper you are looking for is called Phantom or Oblivion. They are
not located at the west of the cave, but at the south of the cave.
Note: You have to kill a few to a lot of there enemies before one of them drops the
item, depending on your luck with RNG.

Here I found my item:

The item is listed as tainted wind talisman. You have to clean it in order for it to really
work. Go to the quest marker on your minimap. Teleport to Ruel Wellspring. Go to the
quest marker at the lake and the tainted wind talisman item will be cleaned. After that,
you obtain the wind talisman item.
Return to the tornado in Calt Blanc Way. The wind talisman emits a dazzling light and
the tornado abates. Now you can continue to Adelzande Tower.

Explore the tower

You start at Adelzande Tower: Lower. Use the teleporters in the tower to warp to the
next area. The map below indicates where the teleporter to the next area is (player
cursor location).

This teleporter warps you to Adelzande Tower: Middle. Go to quest marker on your
minimap. It will trigger an event fragment. Defeat the enemies and the seal on the
teleporter breaks.
This teleporter warps you to Adelzande Tower: Upper. Go to quest marker on your
minimap. It will trigger an event fragment. Defeat the enemies and the seal on the
teleporter breaks.
This teleporter warps you to Adelzande Tower: Top. Prepare for the region boss fight,
because the boss room is up ahead.

Kurjiez Desert region boss

Travel to Adelzande Tower: Top. Here is the boss room.

General info

You have to fight two of them: Abyss the Legate and Taurus Grand Admiral. You'll
have to take on two bosses at the same time. It's going to make this fight a real
challenge.

Dangers

You need to really watch out for the two bosses' team attack. The both have to perform
an action to do it though, and if you can stop even one of them, you can stop the attack.

Strategies

The weak point on both of them is their head, but their heads are too high to reach with
normal attacks. If you can destroy both of their knees, you'll knock them down. That's
when you get in close and let them have it.

Recommended level

Level 34 or higher.
If you are ready to try fighting the boss, select fight the boss. Choose your raid party
and the fight will start.

Last attack bonus

The last attack bonus reward for this boss is Divine Circlet.
You defeated the boss for this area. A new area has been unlocked. You may access it
from the teleportation gate in town.

about the story, you get to watch a cutscene and the story continues.
