Emotional/Social Development
1 Is usually in a positive mood  Azza tends to see her surroundings as a
positive environment, so she has a positive
mood. She is an active, light-hearted and
cheerful child. She loves to play and sing with
people around him, even with new people she
meets. She can show her enthusiasm when she
meets new people or encountering new
situations.
2 Is usually excessively dependent on  Azza is an independent child and she has a
adults high curiosity to do something. When I did
the observation, she tried to turn on the fan.
However she can not grab the button, then she
tried to climb on the chair to grab the button
and finally she could do it herself without
assistance from others. In addition, after she
finished playing, she tried to return her toys to
the place where she took the toy.
3 Usually copes with rebuffs  When she does not like something or she does
adequately not want to do something, she just simply
says “No, I do not want to.” But sometimes
when people really push her to do something
she does not like, she will scream a bit.
4 Has positive relationship with one  Azza can build a good relationship with her
or two peers friends by sharing toys to them. When I did
the observation, she showed me and told
about her pink teddy bear named “Boo,” and
she said that her mother bought the teddy for
herself. In addition, she tried to build a
relationship with others by touching them to
get their attention. When I talked to her father,
she wanted to invite me to play with her pink
snake doll so she touched my hand and kissed
my cheek with her snake doll.
5 Displays the capacity for humor  Azza is a cheerful child and she is easy to
laugh. When I did the observation, I played
with her snake doll and he laughed when I
entwined the doll in my neck.
6 Does not seem to be acutely alone  Although she is an independent child, but
sometimes she needs someone else to be on
her side and accompany her to play.
7 Approaches others positively  She can show enthusiasm when she meets
new people. When she wants to know other
people, for the first time she just looks at the
person then she comes to the person and
begins to build interaction with the person.
8 Expresses wishes and preferences  When I did my observation, Azza told me that
clearly she wanted to buy more toys for herself.
9 Asserts own rights and needs  When I did my observation, Azza’s father
appropriately said that Azza herself chose the clothes that
she would wear that day.
10 Is not easily intimated by bullies  When I told her about the names of animals,
her friends were scrambling for a pencil but
Azza kept paying attention to what I told to
her.
11 Expresses frustrations and anger  When she is angry, usually she just cries but
effectively and without escalating sometimes she also shows her anger by
disagreements or haming others shouting to the person who makes her angry.
12 Gains access to ongoing groups at  When I told to Azza’s older brother about
play and work animals, she could put herself to join a group
even in a group older than her. In addition,
Azza is a child who can easily interact with
people so she always gets a place to join with
her friends.
13 Enters ongoing discussion; makes  When I told to Azza’s older brother about
relevant contributions to ongoing animals, she listened and imitated what I have
activities said. At that time I said the word “monkey”
and Azza could say the word correctly.
15 Shows interest in others; exchanges  Azza is a child who has a high curiosity, so
information with and requests she often asks what she does not know, for
information from others example when I showed a flamingo picture
appropriately she asked “What is this?,” and then she told
me that she had visited Gembiraloka zoo and
saw many animals there.
Attributes of Cognitive Development
1 Can follow one-step instruction  When she was playing hide and seek with her
brother, I asked her to sit next to me and she
did it.
2 Can follow two-step instruction  She could follow my instruction to take her
pencil and drew anything in a piece of paper
3 Can follow three-step instruction  She could follow my instruction to stop
playing the ball, take the ball then put it into a
box. In addition, she could follow people who
pray in front of her.
4 Understands the concept of  Azza understands the function of the button
symbols on a fan and she can operate it. She also
understands her mother’s body language
when her mother asks her to keep silent. In
addition, she can write her name and some
Arabic font like alif and ba by herself.
5 Likes being read to and reading  Azza is a child who has high curiosity, so she
was happy when someone told her something,
for example when I told her about animals.
She kept paying attention to what I told to her.
Beside that, her mother often bought a colored
story book for her and she often looked at the
pictures and then asked others to tell or
explain about the pictures.
6 Likes playing words, numbers, or  Azza’s mother often bought a colored book
abstract symbols with numbers and words and Azza liked to
color the book with her crayon. Beside that,
when I asked her to count her fingers she
could do it but still need to be guided.
14 Can classify concrete pictures,  She can classify some objects that include
objects, and or abstract concepts fruits and vegetables and objects that include
to animals.
Attributes of Physical Development
1 Demonstrates muscle controls when  Azza likes to draw on a small board and she
using scissors, crayons, pencils, likes to color a picture in a coloring book.
spoons, forks When I did the observation, she could hold
the pencil well and she showed me that she
could write her own name.
2 Demonstrates the muscle  Azza has an older brother and he likes to play
coordination necessary to throw or ball with her brother. Usually Azza kicks the
kick ball, catch a ball ball and her brother catches it then they do it
in turn.
3 Is able to skip, hop, run, jump, and  Azza often watches videos on youtube and
dance or move to music she often imitates the characters in the videos
that she watches. She is also able to imitate
Elsa’s princess style in the animated film
“Frozen” and she imitates it while singing
though with imprecise pronunciation. She also
likes to play swing and other objects in the
playground.
