I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of: South and West Asian literature as an expression of philosophical and religious beliefs; information
flow in various text types; reality, fantasy, and opinion in listening and viewing materials; word decoding strategies; and use of information
sources, active/passive constructions, direct/reported speech, perfect tenses, and logical connectors in journalistic writing.
B. Performance Standard The learner transfers learning by composing a variety of journalistic texts, the contents of which may be used in composing and delivering a
memorized oral speech featuring use of properly acknowledged information sources, grammatical signals for opinion-making, persuasion, and
emphasis, and appropriate prosodic features, stance, and behavior.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing previous lesson or The teacher would ask the students to recall how they started their day.

B. Establishing a purpose for the PICK AND USE ME
lesson
The teacher will provide colored paper pasted on the blackboard containing words in past and past perfect tense. Using the crumpled paper to be
passed by the student as the teacher plays the song and when the music stops the student who holds the crumpled paper will choose from the
colored paper pasted on the blackboard and use the word that is written inside the paper in sentence/phrases.
C. Presenting examples/instances of After doing the activity, the teach would ask the following questions:

1. What do you notice in each word written in the colored paper?
2. What do you think those words are called of?
3. Are you familiar with Past and Past Perfect Tenses?
D. Discussing new concepts and SQUID GAME CHALLENGE (Different from the original)

The teacher provided two colored paper (Black and White). The students will choose from the two colors. Students who chose the Black will
be the one to play the game and students who chose the white will be safe from playing the game. The students who will be participating in the
game will be given corresponding player numbers provided by the teacher also. There will be three game levels, from these game levels there will
be a punishment for players who will be eliminated.

GAME LEVEL 1: 123 GO!

MECHANICS OF THE GAME:


 Every players/student will be holding a paper and a ballpen to write their answers in every question with their player
number.
 The teacher will read the sentence once with its choices. As the teacher says ‘Go’ they will start answering and after
the sound ‘mugunghwa kkochi piotsseumnida’, everyone should be done answering.
 The players will raise their answers and will not be moving from their position.
 The players who will be caught moving will be eliminated even their answers is correct.
 The players whose answer is wrong will be all eliminated.
 Have fun.
Direction: Fill in the blanks with proper form of the verb.

GAME LEVEL 2: STEP ON ME!

MECHANICS OF THE GAME:


 Every not eliminated players can proceed to the game level 2.
 Every player will be outside of the room and the teacher will call the first player to play.
 Every player will be stepping on the word written in the paper on the ground for their answers.
 The teacher will read the sentence once. The first player then will be choosing from the words in front of him/her as their answer.
 The teacher will immediately say the answer and if the player’s answer is wrong they will be eliminated.
 The teacher then will call another player to try the same sentence. If their answer is right on the first sentence, the teacher will read the
second sentence, and so on. As the player answered all the sentences right, he/she then can proceed to the game level 3.

GAME LEVEL 3: RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT!

MECHANICS OF THE GAME:


 Every not eliminated players can proceed to the game level 3.
 Every player is free to choose and line up in the color that corresponds to their answer.
 The teacher will read the word and as she says ‘Go’, the players will start to line up and form a line in front of the color they will choose.
 When the sound ‘mugunghwa kkochi piotsseumnida’ stops playing, all players should be in the line of their choice, and if not, they will
be eliminated. Players who chose the wrong color will be eliminated.
 The eliminated players from the game level 1 to game level 3 will perform the punishment. The players who were not eliminated will be
awarded a reward.

E. Developing mastery The teacher will play a short video about a short mysterious narrative story. The students are supposed to take notes while listening. They need to
catch what happened in the story. The teacher will pause the video on 2.10. Then the teacher will ask them what happened in the story. The
students need to summarize the events with at least 3 sentences. They will be given three minutes to gather their notes and make sentences. They
are going to answer one by one.

The teacher then will group them into pairs, and let the students listen to the audio of the video. After listening, the teacher will show the transcript
of the video. They will be given at least 5 minutes to finish filling up the blanks and completing the transcript.
F. Finding practical applications of The teacher will divide the class into four groups and let the students prepare and perform the task given in each group. 15 minutes will be the
concepts and skills in daily living. allotted time for each group to prepare for the task.

Prepare a Minute Dialogue about an incident in the past using Past Perfect Tense in your dialogue lines.

GROUP 2
Prepare a 2 Minutes Report about the Covid-19 using Past Perfect Tense in your sentences.

Group 3
Compose a 5 Lines Free Verse Poetry of any topic using Past Perfect Tense.

Group 4
Compose a Two Paragraphs Narrative Essay about your unforgettable experience last summer. Choose only one from the members of the
group.
