CHAPTER IV

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the summary of findings in which the conclusion was
derived: both of which were made as the bases in the formulation of the
recommendation.

SUMMARY

The objective of this study was to find out the Relationship Between the
Teacher’s Performance and the Academic Performance of Grade IX Students of San
Miguel National High School. A non-experimental method and purposive sampling was
employed in gathering the data. In determining the correlation of the said study,
Pearson R method was used to tell whether the teacher’s performance correlates the
academic performance of the students.

Specifically, this study sought answers to the following queries: 1. what is the
performance of the teachers of San Miguel National High School; 2. what is the
academic performance of the Grade IX students under the sections Amethyst and
Emerald; and 3. is there a significant relationship between the teacher’s performance
and the students’ academic performance.

FINDINGS

It was found out that there is a significant relationship between the teacher’s
performance and the student’s academic performance. There is a slight positive
correlation or direct proportionality between the two variables. In other words, when the
teacher’s performance increases, the grades of the students also increase. The data
interpretation revealed that the teacher’s performance has an effect on the student’s
academic performance. Thus, it meant that the null hypothesis was to be accepted and
the alternative hypothesis was to be rejected.

CONCLUSION

Based on findings, it could be concluded that the performance of the teacher can
affect the performance of the students. If the teacher has a good performance, it will
also result to good performance of the students.

RECOMMENDATIONS

This research study recommends that teachers should employ different

strategies to improve their performance such as classroom management, teaching, and
active learning strategies so as to motivate students to be more engaged with their
lessons and improve their academic performances.
