AZ Tuning box (Ref.No. 090-0046)

In case of service, all hearing instruments with AudioZoom

feature must be retuned in the following cases :
Excl. Aero 23mZ

1. if one or two of the microphones are defective - always change the microphones by pair!

and / or

2. if the amplifier has been exchanged

and / or

3. If the alogorithm(firmware) is downloaded

Installation Tuning Box

For the AudioZoom tuning you need a quiet environment! (Less than 50dB)
A placement as follow is recommend.

Connect the equipment according to the illustrations below

MicAdjustment Software 1.5 or higher

Please find the latest version on the actual PFG CD – CD drive:\Support\Service\GMic

Install the software on your computer

1. Install VBRun60.exe (double click on the file)

2. Install MicAdj1.X.exe (double click on the file)
3. Follow the instructions

1. Unsolder all litzwires
2. Clean the soldering pads

3. Remove the battery door

4. Mount the ITE adapter on the tuning box

5. Insert the module in to the correct adapter

6. Mount the adapter on the tuning box, plug the libby-horn and connect the programming cable

7. Check the the switch on the front side of the Audiozoom Tuning Box

8. Switch „ON „ on the rear side of the Audiozoom Tuning Box and start the multimeter

Aeros have a self calibration system

ð no voltage measurement necessary

Attention ! Calibration time up to 2 Minute

If you use a dspIP programmer we recommend to use it for mic calibration instead of the Hi-Pro .
Calibration time 12-15 seconds.

1. Select instrument type
2. Press „Calibrate Directional Mic“
3. Follow the Information screen in top of
the dspIP-Software screen.

Note :
In case of disconnection (H.I. from the Program
cabel) during the calibration
ð Turn the instrument OFF and ON
ð start calibration procedure again.

How to check the BTE AudioZoom

Program the instrument with the Max Gain and MPO measurement settings
Use the service SoundPilot ; Program 1 and 2 or
Change program with the program switch .
Mount the instrument on stethosclip and listen carefully to the test signal (voice)

How to check the ITE AudioZoom

Program the instrument with the 2ccm measurement setting
Use the service SoundPilot ; Program 1 and 2
Mount the adapter with the instrument on stethoskope and listen carefully to the test signal (voice)

Switch between Program 1 and 2 and listen carefully.

Program 1 Omnidirektional/Wide-angle;
The instrument sounds clear in each position

Program 2 Directional/Zoom;
The instrument sounds dump and clear (the side depends on the side coding with PFG)
