Central Sanskrit University (के न्द्रीर्-संस्कृ त-स्त्रवश्वस्त्रवद्यािर्ुः, Under Ministry of
Education, Govt. of India) is a Dual-Mode multy-campus Sanskrit University.
Mukta Swadhyaya Peetham (MSP) is constituent unit of this University through
which it plans, implements & promotes Distance / ODL-mode for Sanskrit-
Education. It has launched distance-learning-mode for various traditional
programmes approved by Distance Education Bureau. Learners' support activities
of the MSP are executed by Swadhyaya-Kendras of MSP which are situated in
own Campuses of Central Sanskrit University across the country. Sringeri
Swadhyaya-Kendram is one of the most prominent Study Centres of the MSP
which is in Rajiv Gandhi Campus of Central Sanskrit University.
Sringeri-Swadhyaya-Kendram is ready with recently developed unique
Learning Management System and has subject experts to support your study
every possible way through out the academic session. We will use ICT enabled
Distance-Learning-tools/apps in addition to providing printed-self-learning-
material to support the study of the registered learners.

Sanskrit Language cum 'PrakShastri-Bridge Programme'
Eligibility -
• Any person who wants to enter Sanskrit field
• Minimum age 12 Yrs. No upper age limit.
• Those who are undergoing any other regular course any where may also
take this course as enrichment-programme.
• Direct admission. No Entrance Test.
Programme Description -
2 papers of 100 marks each.
• 1st paper - प्रथमा दीक्षा (वणयमािा, वाक्र्व्र्वहारुः,वाक्र्स्त्रवस्तरुः, सम्भाषणम् )
• 2nd paper - स्त्रितीर्ा दीक्षा (व्र्वहारप्रदीपुः - प्रथमभागुः & स्त्रितीर्भागुः)
Duration of study - 06 months.

Maximum duration allowed to complete the programme - 2 academic
sessions.
Study support – Printed Study-Materials will be provided, Audio/Video lessons,
online/recorded teaching & guiding-sessions/doubt-clearing-sessions will be
arranged. More details on study-schedule will be received after the admission.
Exam – Tentatively in Jul. 2022
Mode of Exam – Considering the situation due to Covid-19, & instructions from
the Govt., mode of exam (online/offline/ exam from home etc.) & time-table will
be decided & declared by the Examination Dept. at appropriate time.
Expected outcome of the programme - Basic knowledge of Sanskrit (ability of
understanding, and speaking simple Sanskrit can be achieved through this course.

संस्कृतािगाहनी (शाविसेतुः) / Shastri-Bridge Programme cum

Diploma in Sanskrit Language
Eligibility -
• Any person who wants to study Sanskrit step by step and to improve
communication skills in Sanskrit & wants to build up ability to understand
original Sanskrit texts like Bhagvadgeeta, Ramayana etc. can opt for this.
• Those who are undergoing any other regular course any where may also
take this course as an enrichment-programme in view of attaining Sanskrit-
language skills.
• Prior knowledge of Sanskrit is not mandatory to enter this course. Those
who have studied Sanskrit earlier (in their childhood/long back) but could
not attain proficiency/communication skills in Sanskrit may also join this
programme to achieve those skills.
• Minimum age 15 Yrs. No upper age limit.
4 papers of 100 marks each.
• 1st paper - प्रथमा दीक्षा (वणयमािा, वाक्र्व्र्वहारुः,वाक्र्स्त्रवस्तरुः, सम्भाषणम् )
• 2nd paper - स्त्रितीर्ा दीक्षा (व्र्वहारप्रदीपुः - प्रथमभागुः & स्त्रितीर्भागुः)

शािािगाहनी (आचाययसेतुः) /
Acharya-Bridge Programme cum Diploma in a Shastra
Eligibility Criteria -
• Having Good basic knowledge of Sanskrit attained through Shastri-
Bridge-course or by any other means (Kovida/self study/Gurukula-study
etc.) may apply for this. Here good basic knowledge of Sanskrit means
having not only ability of reading, writing and speaking Sanskrit but also
having full clarity on सस्त्रन्द्ि, समास, कारक, स्त्रवभस्त्रि, अजन्द्त, हिन्द्त, सवयनाम, स्त्रवशेषण-स्त्रवशेष्र्भाव,
शतृ-शानच,् क््वा, तमन्, ल्र्प,् परस्मैपद, आ्मनेपद, िकार, स्त्रवस्त्रवि-िकारेष कतयरर-कमयस्त्रण-भावेप्रर्ोगाुः, संख्र्ा-
संख्र्ेर् etc. Full clarity on these subjects is must for entering to this
programme.
• This course is intended for higher learning in any one opted Shastra among
- व्र्ाकरणम् / सास्त्रह्र्म् / ज्र्ौस्त्रतषम्
• This Diploma will be considered as Acharya Bridge programme also.
• Please note that Graduation is not essential to enter this course if one
possesses Sanskrit language efficiency as defined above. But those having
graduation in any discipline (with or without Sanskrit) may apply for
Acharya (M.A) in the concerned Shastra after completing this Diploma
(Shastravagahani/Acharya Bridge with concerned Shastra). Thus this
course will serve as Acharya Bridge programme for those only who are
graduates in any discipline. For others it will serve as Diploma.
• Those who are presently studying at graduation /PG level
(Shastri/Acharya etc) may also take this Distance-course to study
intended Shastra as an enrichment programme along with their regular
study if they have language efficiency as specified above.
• Direct admission based on self certification regarding required language
efficiency. No Entrance Test.

• 06 papers of 100 marks each. All the six papers will be related to selected
Shastra only. So you have to choose any one Shastra among व्र्ाकरणम् / ज्र्ौस्त्रतषम्
/ सास्त्रह्र्म् for specialization.
• If you choose व्र्ाकरणम् for specialization, your study will cover - कारकप्रकरणम्
(स्त्रसद्धान्द्तकौमदीतुः), समासप्रकरणम् (िघस्त्रसद्धान्द्तकौमदीतुः), अष्टाध्र्ार्ी (1,2,3 अध्र्ार्ाुः), महाभाष्र्म्

• If you choose ज्र्ौस्त्रतषम् for specialization, your study will cover - महूत्तयस्त्रचन्द्तामस्त्रणुः
(शभाशभप्रकरणम् ,नक्षत्रप्रकरणम् & वास्तप्रकरणम्), प्रश्नभूषणम,् बृह्संस्त्रहता (ग्रहचारप्रकरणम्) &

• If you choose सास्त्रह्र्म् for specialization, your study will cover - सास्त्रह्र्दपयणम्
(प्रथम-दशमपररच्छेदौ), सास्त्रह्र्दपयणम् (स्त्रितीर्तुः - पञ्चमपररच्छे दान्द्तम्), अिङ्कारशाि-पररचर्ुः, मेघदतू म्
(सम्पणू यम्), नैषिीर्-चररतम् (प्रथमसगयुः), कादम्बरी (शकनासोपदेशान्द्ता) & उत्तररामचररतम् ।
Duration of study - 1 year.

Pass in 10th equivalent exam with Sanskrit. OR Pass in 10th without Sanskrit +
pass in Prak-Shastri-Bridge programme / any certificate course in Sanskrit
Language conducted by reputed Institutio OR Pass in 10th without Sanskrit +
Prak-shastri Entrance Test (oral)
Note – For above mentioned A & B category, Entrance test is not required.
Those who have passed 10th without Sanskrit but possessed basic Sanskrit
knowledge of high school level (either through self study / Gurukula study etc.
i.e. without proper certification) are eligible for Prak-Shastri after passing oral
Prak-shastri-Entrance Test. (For oral-entrance-test write email to the Coordinator
of Swadhyaya-Kendram - mspssk@gmail.com mentioning your contact details.)
Oral-test is a very simple procedure of approximately 15 minutes conducted by
Swadyaya-kendram to know the interest/attitude of the candidate towards
Sanskrit-learning & also the general grasping-power of the candidate. This will
help us to suggest proper planning to his study).
06 papers of 100 marks each every year. Fist year syllabus is given below –
• 1st paper - िघस्त्रसद्धान्द्तकौमदी (आस्त्रदतुः भ्वास्त्रदपर्यन्द्ता) + रचनानवादुः
• 2nd paper - स्वप्नवासवदत्तम् + श्रतबोिुः
• 3rd paper - English
• 4th paper – स्त्रहन्द्दी
• 5th paper -Elective modern-subject (any one among Economics/Political
Science/History).
• 6th paper -Elective Shastra-subject (any one among व्र्ाकरणम् / ज्र्ौस्त्रतषम् / सास्त्रह्र्म्)
If you choose व्र्ाकरणम् for 6th paper, you will study - वैर्ाकरण-स्त्रसद्धान्द्तकौमदी (आस्त्रदतुः
पञ्चसन्द्ध्र्न्द्तो भागुः)
If you choose ज्र्ौस्त्रतषम् for 6th paper, you will study - भास्करीर्-बीजगस्त्रणतम्
(चक्रवािपर्यन्द्तम्) +जन्द्मपत्रदीपकम्
If you choose सास्त्रह्र्म् for 6th paper, you will study - काव्र्दीस्त्रपका
Second-year syllabus covers some continued portions of the above
mentioned texts except some miner changes.

More details on syllabus & year-wise breakup & study materials will be
received after the admission.
Study support - Printed Study-Materials will be provided, Audio/Video lessons,
This is graduation-programme with Sanskrit as major-subject with option
of selecting one particular Shastra for special study. . Thus, completion of this
programme will enable candidates to take up further study at Post-Graduation-
level, subject to fulfilling other eligibility criteria.
Note - For Shastri-first year, admission-notice is expected in near future. If you
are eligible & interested in joining Shastri-first year, you may fill the form (shown
in next section), so that we will able to asses your eligibility & communicate /
remind you when real admission gets started for Shastri(B.A)-programme. Please
note that fees for Shastri 1st year will not be collected at this point. Fees shall be
paid only after the notification for admission for Shastri 1st year gets published.

require Shastri-entrance-test also may fill the form to get more details on that.)

आचाययः / Acharya (M.A.)
A. Shastri with concerned Shastra/ BA with major Sanskrit/Equivalent exam.
- OR -
B. Any Graduation (with or without Sanskrit / BA/BSc/BCom/BBA/LLB

etc.) + pass in Acharya-Bridge Programme (आचार्यसेतुः/शािावगाहनी) of intended
Shastra.
- OR -
C. Any Graduation (with or without Sanskrit) + pass in Acharya-Entrance-

Test.
Note –
• For above mentioned A & B category, Entrance test is not required.
• Those having any Graduation without Sanskrit, but obtained the
knowledge of basic Shastric texts of concerned Shastra level by any other
means (i.e. self study/Gurukula-study etc.) may get admission in to
Acharya after passing Acharya-Entrance-Test in concerned Shastra.
• Those having Shastri or Acharya OR M.A. in one particular Shastra and
intend to do Acharya in another Shastra also have to appear for Acharya-
Entrance test of concerned Shastra. If such persons are not willing to write
Entrance -test they may do Acharya-Bridge Programme (आचार्यसेतुः/शािावगाहनी)
of intended Shastra.
• Those who passed general B.A. or equivalent exam of any university with
Sanskrit for mere 200 marks (in entire 3 years) but obtained the knowledge
of basic Shastric texts of concerned Shastra, may get admission in to
Acharya after passing Acharya Entrance Test in concerned Shastra.
(The intention is, the candidates have to prove that they studied basic texts
of a particular Shastra in which they want to do higher studies and become
Acharya.)
• Graduation in any subject & knowledge of basic texts of a particular
Shastra is must for writing Acharya Entrance test. Those who do not have
this, are advised to apply for either Acharya-Bridge or Shastri- Bridge
based on other eligibility criteria and their understanding level of Sanskrit.

Duration - 2 years. Maximum – 4 years
• 05 papers of each 100 marks each year.
• This is Post-Graduation-programme in any one opted Shastra among -
Vyakaranam/Sahityam/Jyotisham.
• All the five papers will be related to opted Shastra only. Thus, you have to
choose any one Shastras among व्र्ाकरणम् / ज्र्ौस्त्रतषम् / सास्त्रह्र्म् for specialization.
Criteria for selecting optional Shastra for specialization in Acharya –

• Shastra studied at Shastri level / Acharya-Bridge or Shastra opted during
Acharya-Entrance-test should be chosen as optional-(elective)-Shastra.
• If you choose व्र्ाकरणम् for specialization, your study will cover -
✓ In fist year - िघशब्देन्द्दशेखरुः (पञ्चसन्द्ध्र्न्द्तो भागुः), महाभाष्र्म् (प्रथमाध्र्ार्स्र् प्रथमे पादे ५ तुः
९ आस्त्रिकं र्ावत्), पररभाषेन्द्दशेखरुः, वैर्ाकरणभूषणसारुः, वैस्त्रदकवाङ्मर्ेस्त्रतहासुः भारतीर्संस्कृ स्त्रतश्च ।
✓ In second year - िघशब्देन्द्दशेखरुः (अजन्द्तपस्त्रल्िङ्गादारभ्र् अव्र्र्ान्द्तो भागुः), िघशब्देन्द्दशेखरुः
(िीप्र्र्र्ादारभ्र् अव्र्र्ीभावान्द्तो भागुः), व्र््पस्त्रत्तवादुः (अभेदान्द्वर्पर्यन्द्तो भागुः, इ्र्िं पल्िस्त्रवतेन इस्त्रत
र्ावत्) + वाक्र्पदीर्म् (ब्रह्मकाण्डम्), वैर्ाकरणस्त्रसद्धान्द्त-परमिघमञ्जषू ा, व्र्ाकरणशािीर्ेस्त्रतहासुः
स्त्रनबन्द्िाश्च ।
• If you choose ज्र्ौस्त्रतषम् for specialization, your study will cover -
✓ In fist year - भारतीर्-कण्डिीस्त्रवज्ञानम्, साराविी (१-३० अध्र्ार्ाुः), पञ्चस्वराुः + सस्त्रचत्र-
सामस्त्ररकरहस्र्म्, बृह्संस्त्रहता (प्रथमभागुः), वैस्त्रदकवाङ्मर्ेस्त्रतहासुः भारतीर्संस्कृ स्त्रतश्च ।
✓ In second year - सूर्यस्त्रसद्धान्द्तुः (उपपस्त्रत्तसस्त्रहतुः), बृह्पाराशर-होराशािम्, भावकतूहिम् +
नरपस्त्रतजर्चर्ाय (कमयचक्रपर्यन्द्तम्), बृहिास्तमािा + फस्त्रितस्त्रवकासुः, ज्र्ौस्त्रतषशािस्र् इस्त्रतहासुः स्त्रनबन्द्िश्च ।
• If you choose सास्त्रह्र्म् for specialization, your study will cover -
✓ In fist year - काव्र्प्रकाशुः, ध्वन्द्र्ािोकुः (प्रथम-चतथौ उद्योतौ), ध्वन्द्र्ािोकुः (स्त्रितीर्तृतीर्ौ
उद्योतौ), व्र्स्त्रिस्त्रववेकुः (प्रथमस्त्रवमशयुः), वैस्त्रदकवाङ्मर्ेस्त्रतहासुः भारतीर्संस्कृ स्त्रतश्च ।
✓ In second year - रसगङ्गािरुः (प्रथमाननम्), काव्र्प्रकाशुः (७-१० उल्िासाुः), रसगङ्गािरुः
(स्त्रितीर्ानने आस्त्रदतुः िक्षणापर्यन्द्तभागुः), अस्त्रभिावृत्तमातृका + वक्रोस्त्रिजीस्त्रवतम्, सास्त्रह्र्शािस्र्
इस्त्रतहासुः स्त्रनबन्द्िश्च ।

The following can be achieved after successful completion of this
programme –

• Ability to develop expertise in selected Shastra.
• Ability to develop research-aptitude in concerned Shastra.
• Ability to deliver on the topics related to the concerned Shastra.
• Strong base for research/project-activities related to Shastras.
• Knowledge of inter-related theories of the Shastras.
