human destiny. Apotelesma derives from the Greek apotelesmatikos (astrologically
influential).
 ruler
Your Chart Ruler in
Astrology determines the
first impression you make
on others. Your chart
ruler is the planet that
rules your ascendant or
rising sign.
 house
In astrology, the houses are the cosmic version of a crystal ball. When you're born,
each planet was in a certain house—and those houses can be seen in your birth chart.
The houses are determined by the time you were born, not just the date, so you might
need to text your parents to find this out.
 retrograde
Mercury retrograde is an astrological phenomenon that occurs when the
fast-moving planet Mercury—which takes 88 days to orbit the Sun, as opposed to
Earth's 365—seems to slow down. Planets move from East to West around the
Sun.
 cusp
This term refers to the nature of a person whose birthday falls on the cusp (a point of
transition between two states) 2-3 days before and after the change between two zodiac
signs.
 ascendant
Rising sign (also known as your Ascendant) is your social personality. It is how you
dawn on people as it relates to the zodiac sign that was on the Eastern horizon when
you were born. Your rising sign represents your physical body and outward style.

signs have a proclivity toward sensitivity, and this can make them regularly take things to heart. They take their family and
home life very seriously, however, making them loving partners.
FINAL ACTIVITY
The learning strategies used.
1. Self evaluation: Each student will evaluate different traits they acknowledge about
themselves before the lesson begins. Then, they will compare their sign’s known
personality traits to how they seem themselves.
2. Interaction with each other: The students will talk to their table about their big three
traits and how they relate/feel about them.
3. Exhibit listening skills by participating in closure activity: Students will pair up and guess
each other's real zodiac sign. They will then discuss their zodiac signs and explain if
they believe it is accurate to them.
