Write a not more than 200-word reflection of the film in the context of our present

education situation (Philippine Science Education)

Philippine Science Education provides a conceptual framework by which the K-12

envisions students to be scientifically, technologically, and environmentally literate and a

productive member of society. To be able to do this, teachers take a role to enhance students

21st century skills by using appropriate educational pedagogies for a specific class. Science

teachers must align what approaches are suited for a class, so that students are engaged and

excited in learning, and once they are engaged, they are excited to understand and master

concepts which are relevant to our daily lives and community.

How can teachers keep them engaged? By simply giving learners challenging activities

that enable the latter to develop creative ideas. This will further enhance student’s potential, skills,

and mastery of the concepts, as well as helping them to prepare for the future. Furthermore, aside

from activities, assessments also take an integral part in teaching-learning process. Hence,

alignment between activities and assessments helps minimize wasted time as students can focus

on 21st century skills geared towards the learning objectives. Though, paper and pencil is proven

as less effective in retaining information, I suggest an open-ended question and integration

technologies in class will help both teachers and students in creating a positive and more

collaborative classroom.
