4. COURSE CONTENT
The course will provide students with the way of thinking as lawyers as well as critical
thinking at the basic level. The students will be given the fundamental knowledge of
types of business associations, legal issues in corporate management and
capitalization; nature, formation and performance of contracts, remedies for breach of
contract, consumer law; antitrust law; and intellectual property law. In addition, the
students will be equipped the techniques to discover, analyze and resolve the basic
legal issues arising in the business life.

5. COURSE OBJECTIVES
Thinking: The students own the critical thinking and the way of thinking as lawyers at
the basic level.
Knowledge: The students must have the fundamental knowledge of the following legal
issues: the court system and dispute resolutions; the types of business associations and
the nature of each type, corporate management and capitalization; nature, formation
and performance of contracts, remedies for breach of contract; consumer law; patent,
trademark, copy right and enforcement.
Practical techniques: The students are able to find out, analyze and resolve the legal
issues in the business life.

10. COURSE REQUIREMENT & GRADING POLICY


- Attendance: The students are required to spend 70% of the total course hours at least
to present at the class. If a student who meets the requirement of minimum course
hours will be given maximum scores of 7. To get more scores which are not more than
3 scores, the student must voluntarily take part in discussion, presentation of
homework and cases. If a student who fails to meet the mimimum course hours will
not be given any score for attendance. The maximum scores of attendance are 10 and
are equal to 10% of the total scores for the course.
- The individual/group presentation: The students must invididually or collectively
prepare and/or present cases given by the lecturer. The individual/group assignments
shall be assessed on the basis of their contents, measures and body structures. The
maximum scores are 10 which account for 20% of the toal scores for the course.
- The mid-term test: The mid-term test is used to assess the theoretical and practical
capability of students after the early half of the course. The mid-term test may be in

the form of multiple choices or essay. The maximum scores for each mid-term test are
10 and equivalent to 20% of the total scores for the course.
- The final exam: The final exam is used to assess the theorical and practical
capability of students after the entire course. To access to the final exam, each
student must meet the requirement of minimum class hours and obtains 5 scores
at least for the individual/group assignment as well as the mid-term test. The
structure of the final exam includes four big questions in which either theoretical
questions or practical questions account for 50%. The maximum scores for the
final exam are 10 which are 50% of the total scores for the course. The students
are not permited to use documents in any form except for the legal instruments
during taking the final exam.
