PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Research Engineer
U.S. Naval Research Lab – Naval Center for Space Technology, Washington D.C. May 2021- August 2021
Directorate that serves to design and develop optimized, integrated operational space, airborne, and ground systems.
 Determine conditions for observability of special cases of an autonomous vehicle’s orbit
 Learned about orbit determination to understand observability conditions in autonomous navigation using landmarks
 Record findings and provide detailed explanation throughout observability analyses in an academic paper using LaTex
Research Lead
Gamera- Solar-Powered Helicopter, Alfred Gessow Rotorcraft Center January 2020 – August 2021
Research group that creates and innovates processes and systems on solar powered helicopter using highly efficient rotors and
airframe, with the goal of fully integrated green aeronautics.
 Refine and adjust the Gamera helicopter rotors through systematic component testing and flight testing to obtain
longer and higher solar powered flights, and improve electrical/mechanical efficiency and vehicle weight
 Repair helicopter wings after testing flights while improving upon outdated maintenance procedures
Teaching Fellow
Aerospace Structures ENAE324, College Park MD Jan 2021 – May 2021
Analysis of torsion, beam bending, plate bending, buckling and their application to aerospace.
Introduction to Space Systems ENAE283, College Park MD Aug 2021 – Present
Introduction to air/space vehicles as systems. Elements of aerodynamics, propulsion, performance, stability, and control.
 Lead discussion in small group breakout sessions while encouraging student collaboration and participation
 Responsible for organizing course activities, grading assessments, and communicating weekly with professor and staff
Executive Board Member, President
Women in Aeronautics and Astronautics (WIAA), College Park MD September 2018 - Present
International initiative to support and empower marginalized genders in the aeronautic and astronautic fields through
professional development, academic support, and community outreach.
 Coordinate outreach programs including, WIAA Day, to encourage K-12 students to pursue careers in STEM and
strengthen the community
 Build positive public image, advertise to younger female aerospace community, and recruit new members
 Organize technical workshops, professional development, networking and community development events

PROJECTS
Balloon Payload Program September 2018 - May 2020
 Collaborated in a small group to develop a payload that took pictures to capture the sun and balloon’s orientation
 Programmed with Arduino and raspberry pi cameras while analyzing the stability of the balloon while in flight and
performed routine payload and balloon preparations for flight on the day of the launch
Breakthrough STS/AIE Design Thinking Incubator May 2020 – Aug 2020
 Collaborate directly with UMD Scholar’s program directors, the Academy of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and
several peers to re-imagine service learning and field trip experiences to work for all students during COVID-19
 Design, test, and launch re-design concepts which will be implemented into the following semesters curriculum
