Outte Zone Hazard Ifyou reach around the blade to the outieed sida when ripping, and try to hold down or pul the workpiece through to complete a cut, ‘he rotational force ofthe blade wil pull your hhand back into the blade. Fingers will be cut of. Read and follow the information and Instructions under ripping satety. Safety Safety Kickback Hazard Kickbackcis the uncontrolled propelling ofthe workpiece back toward the user during ri- ping ‘The cause of Kickback isthe binding oF pinching ofthe blade in the workpiece. Sev- feral conditions can cause the blade to bind or inch, When a workpiece kicks back, it could hit hard enough to cause internal organ injury, broken bones, or death. Read and follow the information and Instructions under ripping safety. Wrong Way Feed Hazard Wrong way feed is ripping by feading the ‘workplace into the cutlaed side ofthe blade, ‘The rotational force of the blade can grab land pull the workpiece, Bofore you can let go or pull back, the force ‘could pull your hand along with the work- igoe into the blade. A non-moveable metal upper portion, (Upper Guard) which is fastened to the ‘motor by the guard clamp serow, and which fully covers the upper half ofthe biade 2, A moveable clear plastic portion, (Plas- tic Lower Guard) which partally covers the lower haif ofthe blade. It protects against Contact with the side of the blade during crosscutting when blade isin its rearmost position and the guard is resting on the lable, so the leading and trang teeth of the bade are not exposed. also protects against contact withthe outleed side of the blade during ripping, and acts as a barrier to prevent wrong way Toed. 3. A squoeze trigger in tne saw handle to fully aise the clear plastic guard atthe start ff a crosscut, Note: This is necessary because ‘he guard wil not avomataly rset ear the fone 4.
