Metaphor Poems:

- Choose an object that you wish to describe

- Think of ways you can compare it to something else
- Be creative and choose things that will give readers a sense of what it is you are describing

My example:

My life is like a leaf

The pretty and ugly colors; the good and bad moments

The stem; God’s position of structure in my life

The veins; my family's support that holds me together

And finally, the life cycle; my chance at never-ending regrowth.

The leaf itself is a beautiful item,

Much like the gift of life we are given by God.
