create art. It’s up to you on how and what you feel when making an art.
Pages from the book, which is a collection of the My City, My SM, My
Art campaign emphasizing the finest of Philippine visual arts painting,
sculpture, printmaking, photography, and cinematography, were on
display at the event. My City, My SM, My Art featured masters,
modernists, and millennials in a roadshow around the SM Supermalls as
far north as the Cordilleras and as far south as General Santos during its
three-year cultural journey from 2016 to 2019.

The people in the mall or the shoppers or mallgoers got to see the book
at the My Art home, which is inspired by Luzon's Bahay na Bato, during
the show. The life and works of National Artist for Visual Arts Jose Joya,
who pioneered abstract expressionism in the Philippines, were featured
on the larger than life book pages. It also featured the works of
influential master artist Angelito Antonio, as well as other Bulacan
based artists such as metal sculptor Roen Capule, paper cut artist Ebony
Paguia Hermogenes, young artists Rommel 'Yao' Sampana and Francis
Eugene Andrade, talented book illustrator Juan Nathaniel Raola III,
which is our professor currently in Bulacan State University and Focus
Bulacan, who were featured in the My Art stop at SM City Marilao in
November 2016.

My City, My SM, My Art is the newest installment in the My City, My

SM series, which honors the beauty, culture, customs, and wonderful
people found in locations where SM operates malls around the
Philippines. For me, everything is art. What our eyes see in everyday life
are already an art. I am not good in art, but I am a great artist in my
own version and for myself. 0
