How To Solve Poverty

What the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word
poverty? Lacking in education, jobless, not having enough to support one’s
household?
We can define poverty lacking of basic needs like food, clothes, shelter and
education. It can than lead to other problems like unemployment, malnutrition, health
problems and etc. A poor person is not able to educate due to lack of money and
therefore unemployed, leading to further problems of not being able to buy enough
food for their family thus causing health problems. A weak person, also, won’t be able
to work as they lack the energy thus remaining jobless. It goes around like a cycle, a
jobless person will only remain poor. Thus we can say poverty is the root cause of
other problems.
So what causes poverty? The main cause of poverty is overpopulation. The
rapid rise of population causes economical crisis in a country and there are
insufficient resources. The government also struggles to support the basic needs for
the rising population.
Another cause is lack of education, lack of employment, natural disasters, etc.
For example: lack in literacy can end up with the individual not getting any jobs to
support their family. It compels a person for less paying jobs and makes him poorer.
Lack of employment opportunities makes a person jobless and they are not able to
earn enough to fulfill the basic needs. Natural disasters like flood, earthquake,
wildfires and tsunamis also contribute to poverty.
What can we do to reduce poverty? Governments can reduce tax rates and
increase the minimum pay wage for low skill labor. They can also help by providing
scholarships to deserving children from poor backgrounds and support them with
basic needs. We, as a society, can also help by doing charity work and accumulating
money for areas facing poverty. We can also simply donate our old clothes or utilize
our free time by volunteering to share our education with them. Poverty is the main
cause of our everyday problems and we can control it by contributing. What we think
of as a trash might be treasure to someone else.
