Exercise 7 Causative have/get

1. Treba da uvedeš centralno grejanje pre zime.


You ought to have central heating introduced before winter.

2. Koliko često daješ auto na servis?

3. Mogu li da ti vidim slike iz Londona? – Ne, još uvek ih nisam dao na razvijanje.
Can I see your pictures from London? - No, I haven't had them developed yet.

4. Da li je istina da je pre mnogo godina dao da mu jedan poznati slikar naslika portret?
Is it true that he had a famous painter paint a portrait of him many years ago?

5. Bila je vrlo ljuta kad joj se računar pokvario pošto ga je nosila na servis samo nedelju dana
ranije.

week earlier.

Exercise 8 Inversion with Negative Adverbials

1. Tek je kasnije otkriveno da je slika bila ukradena.

3. Ni u jednom trenutku nismo posumnjali u njegove dobre namere.

Exercise 9 Fronted Concessive Clauses

1. Uprkos tome što je stalno bio prekidan, Petar je nastavio da govori.


Although he was constantly being interrupted, Petar kept on talking..

2. Uprkos tome što kažete, ja ipak smatram da je on dobar nastavnik.


Despite what you are saying, I still think that he is a good teacher.
3. Koliko god mu govorio da zatvori vrata, on ih uvek ostavi otvorenim.
Although I constantly tell him to close the door, he always leaves the door open.

4. Koliko god pokupavao, ne mogu da provalim ovu bravu.


Although I am trying, I cannot break this lock.

Exercise 10 Perfective aspect

1. Ovo je treći put da me neko prekida večeras.


This is the third time I have been interrupted tonight.

2. Neko je pokucao na vrata. To je bio treći put da me je neko prekinuo te večeri.


Someone knocked on the door. It was the third time I had been interrupted that night.

3. Narednog leta idemo na odmor u Tunis. To će biti prvi put da ćemo tamo provesti odmor.
Next summer we are going to Tunisia for vacation. It will be the first time we have spent a
vacation there.

4. Ovo je već treći put da su se kola pokvarila ovog meseca.


This is already the third time the car has broken down this month.

5. To pitanje mi je postavljeno već više puta.


I had already been asked this question several times.
