SINULOG FESTIVAL

Sinulog Festival is also known as


“Santo Niño Festival”. It is an
annual and cultural festival held on
the 3rd day of January in Cebu City,
Central Visayas. It is characterized
by a very long grand parade of
people dressed in colorful outfits
while dancing in honor of Santo
Niño.

POTTERY OF TANAUAN

Eastern Visayas is known for its


pottery and ceramics. The Potters
in Tanauan, Leyte is one of the
biggest pottering industry in
Visayas. Jars, Zen garden-inspired
curvy jars, classic and conventional
pots are handmade by potters using
clay. It is usually sold to people
who are garden enthusiasts.
MAZURKA BOHOLANA

Mazurka Boholana is a Spanish-


inspired ballroom dance from Bohol,
Central Visayas. When the Philippines
was under the rule of Spain, this dance
was made popular. It is performed by
couples scattered in a circle while
stamping their feet and clicking heels.
MALONG

It is a traditional filipino wrap-


around garment that has a
variety of geometrical patterns
in it. The Malongs are usually
used by ethnic groups in
Mindanao (ARMM) such as the
Maranao people. Malong is
usually made up of cotton or
silk in colors of red, purple, and
yellow for occasional purposes
such as ceremonies.

DIVINE MERCY SHRINE

The Divine Mercy Shrine is a Catholic


monument located in El Salvador,
Misamis Oriental, Northern Mindanao.
This statue features a 50-foot-tall statue
of Jesus Christ. There is also a church
near the statue. The reason why this place
is built is to worship and pray and for
those who are looking for a solemn place.
