1. In your previous professional education subjects and based on your own

experience, describe what teaching and learning is?

Teaching and learning are both valuable in the learning process of the
students. Teaching is where learner was provided with the power of education
and learning is where learners were being empowered to help them shape a
better future. Teaching and learning is where teacher and learner work
together to affect the learner in different domains in the learning process of
the learners.

2. What is teaching and learning process?

Teaching and learning process is an integral part of learner’s

development. It is the process of sharing knowledge from the teacher to the
learner. Educators assess the learner’s needs and established a learning
strategies, methods and approaches that would provide a positive outcome in
the development of the learners. Learners where given an opportunity to
discover their potentials and capabilities that is continuously being developed
and improved.

3. In your own perspective, describe an effective teacher?

Aside from excelling in the application of different strategies, methods

and approaches and passing the PPST and licensure exam, an effective teacher
is someone who demonstrates a deep understanding of his/her profession and
a teacher who value the leaners. Being a teacher is not just a job but it is a
lifetime journey where the future of thousands of learners lies in your hands,
and ensures that you are guiding them to the right path. Valuing learners is
significant for an effective teacher, for learners must not be taught through
the book but through the heart where it speaks and communicate not only
through the mind but the holistic aspect of the learners.

4. How much content does the teacher know and how many teaching
approaches does he need to use in teaching his subject for him/her to
become an effective teacher.

A teacher must know all the content and must execute the teaching
approaches that will be best to be of used in teaching his subject. As a
teacher you need to master the content and the approaches and strategies
that you will use. Being and effective teachers is not about the number of
the content and approaches you have memorize but is how you applied those
and how you deliver it to the learners that will be reflected in the outcome
and feedbacks or to the learner itself.

5. What is pedagogical knowledge (PK)? How about pedagogical content

knowledge (PCK)?

Pedagogical knowledge refers to the ability of the teachers to create

effective teaching and learning environments for all the learners and
Pedagogical content knowledge refers to the ability of the teacher to deeply
understand the content and pedagogy that was created by teachers and
maximizes it for it to be accessible and can be delivered effectively to all
the learners.

6. How does these PK and PCK affect to the teaching and learning
process?

Pedagogical knowledge and Pedagogical content knowledge affect the

teaching and learning process for it is also an integral part of it. It helps
educators to master what is being taught and at the same time how is it
being taught. This means that the more the teachers gains PK and PCK the
more it will leads to a better learning process of the learners.

7. List down the different teaching approaches/ strategies used by your

previous teacher or professors.

Visualization – providing us with photos, audio clips and videos, exposing us

to field trainings and etc.
Cooperative learning – role plays, group activities
Inquiry based instruction – providing opportunities to express our point of
views
Technology in the classroom – application of technology makes it more
interactive
Behavioral management – providing rules that is needed to be observed
Constructivism – we share our understandings feelings and knowledge
rather than just passively taking all the information.

8. What is the best approach in teaching to enhance the student’s learning?

All approaches could help in enhancing students learning, because at this

time it will always be based on how you applied and execute those approaches.
What is essential is to know your learners needs for you to be able to address and
cater the needs of the learner and assess what you can possibly offer for you to
enhance your student’s learning. And the teachers should also find teaching
approaches that fits them and that they are confident in what they do to improve
not just the students learning but as well as the teachers experience.
 ACTIVITY 2

1. Describe the teaching methodology used by the teacher in the

demonstration.

The teacher used Student centered or Constructivism in the teaching

demo shown, where he let the student shares their answer, understanding and
knowledge during the demo teaching and he the learners were not just passively
taking all the information given by their teacher but they also have an equal
opportunity to share and receive information from both the teacher and
learners. Cooperative learning was also used in the demo teaching wherein the
learners where grouped together to solve a problem and engage with each other
while learning.

2. Identify the teaching approaches employed by the teachers to enhance

the student’s learning?

The teacher started the class with a joyful atmosphere.

Using games, where they pass the notebook and when the music stop
the one who holds the notebook will be the one who will answer the
questions.
Visualization, where there are videos and audio clips, photos and
making students who wore costumes like shapes that is part of their
topic.
Making use of songs that engage the students more.
Giving equal attention and opportunities to the learners.

3. How did the teaching and learning process take place considering the
different teaching approaches and principles of teaching and learning?

Teaching and learning takes place because the approaches and principles
used was the one that is effective and caters the needs of the learners.
Teachers always choose what fits and would address the learner’s needs to
ensure that teaching and learning process will occur that could be in the learner.
The teaching approaches and strategies serve as a key that help in reaching the
learners fullest potential. And we can say that the teaching and learning process
that has taken place was effective when the learners where able to grasp
everything and applied it in real life situations.

4. During this pandemic, can teaching-learning process be observed? Give

your insights

In this time of pandemic with all the efforts that was made by our
educators there is a big possibility that teaching and learning process can be
observed. It may not be similar to the face to face discussion but still the
teaching and learning process was not removed in the new mode of learning we
adopted. Teaching may be able to be conducted by teachers through demo
teaching or through the parents to ensure that the learning process will not be
stopped due to pandemic. It is challenging because not all learners have someone
who could help them but the time and efforts that was spend by our educators
will always means that they want to continue to provide both teaching and
learning to their learners, and it can be observed and reflected to their
performance for that academic year.
 REFLECTIONS

Based on your observations and learning experiences or based on the video that you
watched, write brief reflection of your feeling and insights about teaching and learning
process. You can create a framework or use narrative statements.

Teaching and learning process can take place everywhere. It

doesn’t depend on the situation but it depends on the passion to teach
and the eagerness to learn. There are times that what you expected
will not be the outcome but it is okay because it is a process, it takes
time and no matter how much time each learners needs those times
will always be worth it, because you’ll see them reach their fullest
potential.

The love of the teacher will always be reflected on the learner,

when I watched the first video I was amazed because he knows what
he do, he loves what he do, that’s the reason why he was able to
deliver and excellent demo teaching.

I was happy to see that there are teachers who are like them,
who value their students learning and choose a teaching approaches
and strategies that would help students show the best in them.

Teaching and learning process is not a responsibility of the

teachers alone but it is both for the teacher and students. They
should work together to assess what teaching and learning process will
be effective for them to reach their fullest potential and to provide
them a worthwhile learning and teaching experiences.
