Daily Routine

Nelida is a Cape Verdean girl, who lives in Ponta d’ Água-Praia. She is a student and she is
attending 12th grade at Polivalente Cesaltina Ramos Secondary School.

Every day, Nélida wakes up 6:15. She always gets up at 6:20, and then she brushes her teeth, takes
a shower, gets dressed, and greets her family. At 7:00, she has the breakfast, puts the uniform, and
leaves her house at 7:15. Nélida usually calls her friends to wait for her at the bus stop, in order to
take the same bus. She starts school at 7:30, but sometimes she gets late and she has to invent
some excuse for her teacher. She finishes school at 12:30 in the afternoon, and she goes back
home at 13:00. The first thing she does when she gets home, Is to lunch and to rest a little bit.
Nélida often has classes at afternoon, so she has to take shower and go to school again. However,
when she doesn’t have class, she stays at home to study and visit her friends. At 16:00, she starts
chatting on the internet with her friends and her boyfriend. At 17:00, she helps her mother with
housework and at 18:30, she has a snack. At 21:00 in the evening she watches soap opera and at
22:00, she goes to the bed.
