Abstract

This research study has been carried out to determine the level of

awareness, perceived significance, and level of participation of youth in

barangay central about SK programs. The researchers also looked into the

correlation between the level of participation and age and sex of the

respondents. Youth engagement promotes personal and social development,

provides programs and services to children and young people, and facilitates a

more democratic society. The purpose of having social action as a project was

to raise awareness among youth about the social issues affecting them and to

make use of their creativity and leadership skills to address these issues

appropriately. The quantitative research design was used and employed to 385

youth respondents through a survey questionnaire within the vicinity of

Baranggay Central, City of Mati. The respondents are composed of 196 female

respondents and 189 male respondents, the researchers used Cochran formula

to target a total of 385 respondents. This study utilized statistical tools such

as percentage, mean, and cross-tabulation of the socio-demographic profile of

the respondents.
