The Formless Concept of Shiva

-- Adi Shankaracharya

"Om!! Man O Buddhi O Ahankar O Chittani Na Aham
Na Cha Shrotra Jihve Na Cha Gran Netre
Na Cha Vyom Bhumir Na Tejo Na Vayu
Chidananda Rupah Shivoham Shivoham !!"

The formless concept of Shiva first explained by Adi Shankaracharya, also interpreted many times in his
famous work "Vivek Chuda mani" - The Crest Jewel of Discrimination. Here Shiva is imagined to exist
within each & every individual, you , me everywhere. Right from the begining of Srishti there was Shiva
and at the end there is Shiva.

Here Om - and

Intepretation:

Man - mind

repeated there:
"Nainam chindati shastrani (that which a weapon cannot tear), nainam deheti pawakah(that which wind
cannot wear).....

"Na Cha Pran Sango Na Wai Pancha Vayu
Na Wa Sapta Dhatu Na Wa Pancha Kosha

explanation)
Na Wak - I cannot speak

Na Cha Upastha Payu - I have neither buttocks nor any anus

Yet I am haapy. The use of those three terms Sat (The Truth) + Chit (The Mind) + Ananda (Happinness)
lways leads to Shiva.

"Na Me Dwesh Rag O Na Me Lobh Moho O
Mad O Nei Wa Me Nei Wa Matsarya Bhava
Na Dharmo Na Cha Artho Na Kam O Na Moksha
Chidananda Rupah Shivoham Shivhoam"

Na Me Dwesh -  I don't have jealousy

Yet I am happy, I am the Shiva. The concept of Shivoham ( I am the Shiva) was used by Swamiji in his
address while inspiring the youth, that, you can do everything, you have got the immense potentiality in
you.

"Na Punyam Na Papam, Na Sukham Na Dukkham

Na Cha Sangtam, Nei Wa Muktir Na Mewa
Chidananda Rupah, Shivoham, Shivoham"

Aham Nirvikalpo - I am the omniscient, ahs no duplication
