Introduction:

In accordance with the instruction received from Messers HEAVEN BAY SHIPPING & TRADING CO.
the undersigned surveyors did attend the motor vessel “ANO KATO” at Port of POINTE NOIRE -
CONGO, on 06 APRIL 2017; for the purpose of conducting a pre-purchase condition survey and has to
report as follows.

This survey report records information and details obtained during the inspection and as made available
by vessel’s Master and Chief Engineer.

Description of the vessel:

Currently; vessel classed with PANAMA MARITIME DOCUMENTATION SERVICES (PMDS) as


“GENERAL CARGO SHIP" with following notation:

H – M – GENERAL CARGO SHIP

Vessel’s class and statutory certificates are issued by PANAMA MARITIME DOCUMENTATION
SERVICES (PMDS) under Panama Maritime Authority.

Vessel was built under the supervision of BUREAU VERTIAS Class Society on 01 January 1997 at
Romania, by ”SANTIERUL NAVAL TULCEA" of 100% welded steel structure with superstructure and
machinery spaces located aft.

The hull under main deck is divided into four (4) cargo holds provided with four (4) hatch openings fitted
with four (4) folding hatch covers; hydraulically controlled; located forward of the superstructure.

Vessel arranged with double bottom; used for fuel oil & diesel oil and ballast water; and arranged with
side tanks.

The piping system of the double bottom tanks is coming through duct keel, and valves for ballast water
tanks are hydraulically controlled.

Vessel is fitted with the following cargo handling cranes:

1. Crane No.1 with SWL of 40 Mtons serving cargo hold no.1 & no.2; electro-hydraulically driven.

2. Crane No.1 with SWL of 40 Mtons serving cargo hold no.3 & no.4; electro-hydraulically driven.

The side shell is with transverse framing system, bottom and main deck with longitudinal framing.

Vessel is driven by single screw diesel engine connected through reduction gear box to controllable pitch
propeller (CPP).

E1 - HULL Condition

External shell plating &  Vessel was berthed on jetty at the time of our
coating inspection.

 The shell steel plating (STBD) above load water line


inspected and found generally in poor condition; as
the followings are observed:

 Side shell plating found heavily corroded, with scales


and with slight ribbing

 Coating of above water part found in fair to good

holds could not be seen due to cargo loading operations.

It was observed from engine room logbook that exhaust gas


temperature for main engine between 435OC to 445OC; which it is
considered excessive (too high) exhaust gas temperature comparing
to vessel’s speed 8 knots at main engine load less than 70%.

General overhauling and maintenance is a necessity for full load of


main engine

Main engine sea-water cooling pipes need to be replaced; found


wasted.

G - CONCLUSION

The general condition of the vessel in this age is satisfactory. To upgrade; and maintain the general
appearance by spending more efforts in de-scaling and re-coating in way of paint break down and
rust.

The following to be taken in consideration:

1. Last dry-dock report of the shipyard and check the shaft clearances and poker gauge wear-
down.

2. General overhauling and maintenance is a necessity for full load of main engine

3. Vessel’s class society had been transferred to Non-IACS society on 05 April 2017; and
vessel’s class society is No longer with Russia Maritime Register of Shipping.

4. Vessel was granted by Panama Maritime Authority a dry-docking extension till 01 July 2017.

Following the above mentioned surveys and tests, and in witness whereof and subject to parts that
could not be tested nor examined, the present attestation is delivered without prejudice, for the ends
and purpose for which it was designed.
