REASON FOR THE ACTION

Definition: Risk-Based Asset Maintenance is the process of maintaining a large asset base and dealing with the risks that are inherent in this process. Risk is based on a
balance of the actual performance of the asset, cost, customer service, and investment.
A Risk-Based Asset Maintenance Program couples risk management, standard work processes and condition-based maintenance to properly apply resources based on
process criticality.
Simplified Failure Modes and Effect Analysis utilizes common failure modes to identify the preventive and predictive maintenance tasks required for optimum asset
health.
Asset Maintenance Program self-assessment was completed and a score of 40% was given on risk-based maintenance program. An improvement action is identified to
achieve an 80% score.
ANALYSIS OF CAUSES
Continued guidance, knowledge and experience sharing to support our teams to be able to match the needs and expectations of our stakeholders.
DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTION
Introduce O&M key members into reliability engineering concepts.
Develop and implement reliability engineering and physical asset management key activities as follows:
1. Root cause analysis
2. Failure mode, effects and criticality analysis (FMECA)
3. Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM)
4. Critical Asset Condition Assessments
5. Critical Assets Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA)
6. Assess and optimize maintenance plan
7. Assess and optimize Capex plan
