MODULE 1: TRANSMISSION LINE PARAMETERS

Meera P. S.
SELECT, VIT Chennai
Introduction
• A transmission line has four parameters:

• Resistance

• Inductance

• Capacitance

• Shunt conductance

• These parameters are uniformly distributed throughout the line, but can be

assumed to be lumped for approximate analysis.

Resistance

• Conductor resistance is affected by frequency, spiraling and

temperature.
