The MYOB ODBC Direct driver provides a portal into your business information, making it available for use in advanced
reports, other applications and add-on solutions.
What is MYOB ODBC Direct?
MYOB ODBC Direct is a Windows® -compatible driver
that enables network-wide access to your MYOB
Accounting, MYOB Accounting Plus and MYOB Premier
business information.
It acts as an interface between your MYOB company file
and other applications, interpreting requests and providing
information “as required” directly from the database.
Using ODBC, the most popular database industry
standard, you can now access virtually all the data in
your company file. So whether you are a developer or an
analyst using a reporting tool, gaining access to MYOB
data is now a simple matter.
Be more productive
MYOB ODBC Direct breaks the constraints of built-in data
reports, manual data export procedures, and cumbersome
file transfers. Now you can perform analyses that are more
thorough and report on your business information to get a
better understanding of how the decisions you make could
affect your business’s performance. And as it uses ODBC,
you can seamlessly transfer data from an MYOB accounting
system to any reporting, analysis or add-on solution,
without user intervention.
You can maintain a “live” read- only ODBC connection
to a registered MYOB company file even while others are
entering new transactions, and a connection can be created
on the fly using a ‘DSN-less’ connection. This means that
many add-on solutions can run in parallel to your MYOB
software and will not interrupt your daily use.
The MYOB ODBC Direct driver comes with a data
dictionary that describes the tables available within the
MYOB database, along with information on creating and
managing connections.

Availability
To fully utilise MYOB ODBC Direct, you must first have
registered your MYOB accounting software. If you are
using MYOB Accounting v14, MYOB Accounting Plus
v14 or MYOB Premier v8 or above, you will also need to
activate your company files before accessing them using
MYOB ODBC Direct.
A read-only site licence for MYOB ODBC Direct and 14
days installation support can be purchased in Australia for
$259 directly from MYOB Sales by calling 1300 555 111.
In other regions please contact your local MYOB support
team for pricing details. You will need to have your MYOB
accounting product serial number close by to complete the
ODBC activation process.
You can test MYOB ODBC on the Clearwater sample
company file at no charge, so you can verify that the driver
suites your needs. The Clearwater file is included in all
MYOB business management software Test Drives.
Creating and using add-on solutions
The MYOB ODBC Direct driver may be available at no
charge when you purchase an add-on solution from a
registered MYOB Professional Partner – Developer. This
program provides developers of add-on solutions with a full
set of resources for creating, testing and supporting their
applications.
The MYOB Professional Partner Program – Developers
includes write-back access to MYOB company files via the
MYOB business rules, reference software, technical support

• PC with Pentium IV Processor (or equivalent) @ 2 ghz or
better with at least 512 MB RAM
• Hard Disk with at least 350 MB Free Space
• Windows 98 & ME, Windows 2000 Pro & Server,
Windows XP Home & Pro, Windows 2003 Server.
