GUIDELINES FOR B.TECH. SEMINAR – 2015
A) Report
1. “Seminar Topic” should be inserted as the left justified header. “Civil Engineering, FISAT”
should be inserted as left justified footer. Header and footer should be in Times new roman font of
size 10. All the pages of the seminar report except the title page should be numbered at the bottom
and aligned right. Numbering of the pages should start from the introduction. Acknowledgement,
abstract, content should be given roman (small) numbering.
2. The seminar report should be typed in Times new roman font of size 12 in 1.5 line spacing in A4
size paper. Each page should have 25 mm margin on the top, 30 mm on the sides and 15 mm at the
bottom from the edges of the paper.
3. The seminar report should have a minimum of 15 pages and a maximum of 40 pages including
certificate, text, figures and references. Only the cover page and certificate should be in separate
sheets, with the remaining matter continuing in the same sheets.
4. Use only SI units. If necessary, other units may be given in brackets following SI units.
5. All headings including paragraphs should be left aligned.
6. Headings should not be underlined.
7. Equations, tables, and figures should be numbered separately based on each chapter.
a)Figures and graphs should be numbered at the bottom of figure/graph.
eg. Fig.1.1: Name of the figure ( 1.1 means chapter 1 figure 1)
Fig.2.3: Name of the figure ( 2.3 means chapter 2 figure 3)
b)Table should be numbered at the top of the table.
eg. Table 1.1: Name of the table ( 1.1 means chapter 1 table 1)
c)Equations should be numbered.
eg. ……..(i) / ……..(1)
7. References should be given as per ASCE format.

B) Presentation Details:-
1. Slides should have
i) Topic’s name, guide’s name, student’s name and roll number.
ii) Introduction
iii) The contents in detail
iv) Relevant graphs and figures
v) Formulated tables
vi) Results and discussion
vii) Conclusion
viii) References
2. Minimum of 20 slides should be presented and maximum number is not restricted.
3. All slides should have the heading.
4. All figures, graphs and tables should be named without numbering.
5. All headings, sub headings and the content should have different font size and it should be
uniform through out the slides.
6. Slides should be numbered at the bottom.
NOTE:
All students should get their presentation slides and the corrected report approved
from their respective guides, 2 days before their presentation. Otherwise 50% of their
marks will be deducted.
