FORMAT FOR PREPARATION OF PROJECT REPORT
ARRANGEMENT OF CONTENTS:
The sequence in which the training report material should be arranged and bound as
follows:
1. Cover Page
2. Inner Title Page (Same as cover page)
3. Declaration by the Student
4. Certificate by the Guide
5. Abstract (It should be in one page and include the purpose of the study; the methodology used
and a summary of the major findings.)
6. Table of Contents t (This should be split in various chapters/sections with each chapter/section
describing a project activity in totality). This portion of report should contain all relevant
diagrams, tables, flow charts, software programme, print outs, photographs etc., which are
poperly labeled)
7. List of Tables
8. List of Figures
9. Abbreviations and Nomenclature(If any)
10. Chapters
11. Conclusion & Recommendations
12. Appendices (Appendices are provided to give supplementary information, which if included in
the main text may serve as a distraction and cloud the central theme)
13. References ((The listing of references should be typed 2 spaces below the heading
“REFERENCES” in alphabetical order in single spacing left – justified. It should be numbered
consecutively (in square [ ] brackets, throughout the text and should be collected together in the
reference list at the end of the report. The references should be numbered in the order they are
used in the text. The name of the author/authors should be immediately followed by the year and
other details)
c. Chapter 3- Implementation
d. Chapter 4- Result & Discussion.
e. Chapter 5- Conclusion & Future Scope. (The chapter No. of chapter 3&4 may
vary depending on no. of chapters covered in ‘Project Work’ chapter)
14. The listing of references should be typed 4 line spaces below the heading “REFERENCES”
in alphabetical order in single spacing left – justified. The reference material should be listed in
the alphabetical order of the surname of the first author. The name of the author (s) should be
immediately followed by the year and other details.
A typical illustrative list given below relates to the citation example quoted above.
