A description of a trip

1 Read Seiji’s description of his trip and answer the questions.

My trip to Norway
My name is Seiji. I am a student of music in Tokyo, Japan. Last year I went on a guided tour around Norway.
I really wanted to see the country where my favorite composer, Edvard Grieg, lived.
The flight from Tokyo to Oslo took almost 13 hours. We changed only once in Helsinki, but I was really tired.
We spent one day sightseeing in Oslo. It’s not a very big city, but the people here are really friendly. We visited
Akershus Castle and Oslo Opera House. Oslo is a green city, there are a lot of parks and mountains around it –
it’s great if you want to relax after a long flight!
Then we went to Bergen. I visited Grieg’s museum, of course. We stayed in a little hotel.
Then we went on a tour around Lofoten Islands. These are islands near the coast of Norway. The views were
spectacular: the mountains, the sea, beautiful beaches – but water rather too cold for swimming! It was really
quiet there as there were not too many people. I also loved the very long nights. I didn’t like the food too much
– I think it was the only thing I didn’t like.
I hope I can come back to Norway one day.
