Study of Gamete Development in_ : Mouse (Mammal) |: To study and identify the spfges of gamete development in mouse (mammal) i.e., T-S. of testis and L.S. of ovary thfough permanent slide. UIREMENTS Permanent slide of TS. of testis and L.S. of ovary, microscope. /EDURE Fix the permanent slide under the microscope. First observe it under the low power and then Mer high power. ERVATION Of Testis ‘The testis of a mouse (mammal) is covered by a thick fibrous tissue called tunica albuginea. ‘The testis consists of numerous seminiferous tubules embedded in the interstitial tissue. Various types of germinal cells are present from outside towards lumen in the following sequence. Spermatogonia -> Spermatocytes -> Spermatids —> Spermatozoa — Sperms. Between the germinal cells, pyramid shaped cells called sertoli cells are present. ‘Scanned wih CamScanner | stil Comprehensive Laboratory Manual in 66 ate Presene i ed in sertoli cells, large number of spermatozoa with their heads embedded in ser lumen of seminiferous tubule. ‘The interstitial tissm also contain leydigs cells, mina mal texhormone estoy, Viecorat Pettoneum — Interstitial calls Fig. 11.1.
