SYSTEM TEST DNS

CONNECTIVITY CHECK

Introduction 
At Refinitiv® we are continuing our journey to separate from Thomson Reuters. We would like to inform you
about the changes we are making to our network domains that will affect our product ranges in the coming
months.
In order to avoid disruption or loss of service to Refinitiv® Eikon, you will need to complete the required network
and DNS changes, as well as upgrade to Refinitiv Eikon version 4.0.53 or later by 31 July 2021.

Important 
The System Test connectivity check should be run for all connection and workstation configurations used
to access the Refinitiv Eikon service.
If Refinitiv Eikon is installed on multiple machines (office PC vs home laptop), all machines must be tested.
If Refinitiv Eikon is accessed from different connectivity options (office LAN, home internet, VPN), all
connectivity options must be validated.
Only update software version to 4.0.53 or later once connectivity to the Refinitiv domains is confirmed via
System Test.

Getting started: downloading and running the Eikon System Test

1. Download the stand-alone

Eikon System Test software
from eikon.refinitiv.com.
2. Click Run the Test to
download the stand-alone
Eikon System Test software.
3. Double-click on the Eikon
System Test executable file
to launch the application.
4. Next, choose your location
country from the selection
menu.
5. Select Test Type: System
Test for Eikon and tick the
Verify connection box.

6. Click Start Test to launch
the validation process.

Reading the test results

If your Refinitiv Domain

Connection Check tests
fail, you will need to make
changes to your network
configuration to allow access
to the Refinitiv domains. 
Once you have implemented
the required changes, run the
System Test software again to
verify connectivity.
Please remember to run
the test for all connection
configurations you may use
to access the Refinitiv Eikon
service.

Refinitiv Eikon software updates

Auto-update clients:
Software will download and
self-install within a few days of
running a successful Refinitiv
connectivity check.

Important:
For the version upgrade
to take effect, keep your
Eikon open for at least
two hours.

Also make sure that
your Microsoft® Office
applications do not start
before Refinitiv Eikon. 

Manual update clients:

Please download the latest
installer package from
eikon.refinitiv.com.
You can verify if your Refinitiv
Eikon has been upgraded to
the latest version by clicking on
the (1) Helios button, and then
navigating to (2) Help and (3)
About Refinitiv Eikon.
You will see the software
version detailed in the main
(4) About screen.
