For a lot of people going away to college is the first time that they have lived away from
their parents, and for those individuals it creates an opportunity for social growth, as well as
helping them to become independent from their parents. College presents the opportunity
for an individual to develop in factual knowledge, networking, and social skills. Attending
college, even if an individual does not finish, will help and individual to develop the key social
skills that will help them in their future career, as well as give them more factual knowledge
in order to be able to carry on an intelligent conversation.

There are a lot of benefits, as starting new life separate from parents, becoming more
responsible, getting new useful knowledge, getting a chance to have qualified high paid job.
But for me the main reason was that i would have to communicate and communicate really a
lot with new people. I have serious problems with communication, it was even hard for me to
buy something in the shop as I afraid to talk to people. And in college i forced myself to talk
to people whom i didn't know at all and right now it isn't problem for me anymore.
So my point is that everyone decide for himself and follow his own goals entering the college.

Earning a college degree is all about opening up opportunities in life. First, you get a
chance to grow up or mature in a somewhat protected environment. Second, if you are semi-
serious about studying you might actually learn something that will land you a fairly good job
once you graduate. Third, you will meet people and make friends for a lifetime.
