MEANINGS OF INTERPLANETARY ASPECTS
YoonGi is Saturn and Caroll is Sun (discord = -12.93) -- Sun opposite Saturn - Power urge
and security urge combine. This aspect can be good or unfortunate, depending on whether
the majority of interchart aspects are harmonious or frictional. YoonGi slows down Caroll, but
this could be for Caroll's own good. YoonGi reminds Caroll of duties and responsibilities and
can be a bit critical. Caroll does much to encourage and vitalize YoonGi, alleviate worries,

HUMAN RELATIONS
The ability to get along harmoniously with our fellow men and women is an asset impossible
to overestimate. The success and happiness of every individual rest upon it. There is scarcely
any activity or situation in life that does not involve contact with other human beings. The more
easily a person adjusts himself to family, community, and the associations he forms in earning
his livelihood, the smoother will be his path in life. Nearly all the tension and strain of modern
living is brought about, not by difficult conditions, but by disturbing emotions aroused in
personal, group, or public contacts.
A prime requisite for getting along with others is self-understanding and self-control. If you
understand yourself, you will find it easier to understand others. Self-control enables you to
handle your contacts more positively.
Astrology emphasizes SELF-UNDERSTANDING because you must first know where your
own faults lie in adjusting yourself to others. In a horoscope we read individual personality
through the sign ascending at the hour of birth - the rising sign; therefore the opposite point
(the 7th house) is one's projected attitude toward others, or what we may call the general
public. Every square or opposition aspect in our horoscope can be viewed as a personality
trait which tests our ability to get along harmoniously with others. The testing may not come
out as an open conflict, and the more emotionally mature the individual is, the less apt it is to
do so. In this case it remains a psychological factor, part of the character or spiritual growth.
Such a tension or problem of adjustment may present itself in family relationships or marriage,
or in business or friendships. The planets symbolize one's instincts and urges, and if there is
an inner conflict, as indicated by a square or opposition aspect in the individual horoscope,
and by some of the conjunctions (principally those in which one of the malefics is involved -
Mars, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, or Pluto), this inner conflict will express itself in many, though
probably not all, of his human contacts.
Bear in mind that in comparing horoscopes you are analyzing the effect of one individual upon
another. The purpose of comparing horoscopes is to explore the possibilities and problems of
an association; to understand why another person affects you as he does and how you are
apt to affect him.
It is a law of attraction that our attracting or being attracted to certain persons or environments
is rarely, if ever, pure chance. When the association or environment is testing or unpleasant,
the experience has been attracted because of a conflict of personality in the individual nature
that needs to be resolved. We must come to terms with our own conflicting urges. Sometimes
the test may be up to our discrimination in accepting or refusing a situation or an association.
Some individuals may need to develop the courage and willpower to say "NO" to an
association that could be harmful to them.
Regarding romance and marriage, it is very important to distinguish the difference between
personality and character. Romance may begin with an attraction of personalities, but it is
CHARACTER that decides the success of a marriage. Astrology is the best way to diagnose
the character of a person or the characteristics of a relationship. Yet remember, the

work itself out. That will be determined by the use you make of your own WILLPOWER.
ATTRACTION AND ENDURABILITY
According to the dictionary, to attract is to "draw by some winning influence: charm, allure, to
entice, to win." We can insert parenthetically that some people are more attractive to the
opposite sex than others, and so attract more opportunities for romance and marriage. If you
are attracted to another person, you are interested, curious, have a friendly feeling, and are
disposed to look with favor upon that person. You'll pursue and encourage the
acquaintanceship. An attraction felt between members of the same sex creates friendship.
When two people of the opposite sex are strongly attracted and feel the pull of animal
magnetism, or what we can term the polarity of opposites, we have the basis for romance.
Sometimes such an attraction is superficial and temporary. Many a person has felt attracted to
another person of the opposite sex for a brief period and afterward wondered exactly what he
or she had seen in that person. Sometimes an attraction is one-sided. Many people mistake
pity for love, or are misled by flattery and attention. Sometimes an attraction springs from
sheer loneliness. If real love is to develop, the attraction should be more than a superficial
one. In comparing horoscopes we analyze various factors, and the greater the number of
aspects of attraction, the stronger will be the attraction.
Most IMPORTANT in judging attraction are the aspects between the Ascendant or
Descendant of one chart and the planets of the other chart, and vice versa. Unless the
Ascendant or Descendant of one horoscope combine with the planets of the other by sign
and/or aspect it is doubtful that, whatever the attraction, that it would result in marriage. It is
the Ascendant, symbolizing the personality of the individual, that determines the real power or
magnetism of the attraction. The Ascendant of one chart in aspect to planets of the other chart
CONFIRMS and SUPPORTS any congeniality and compatibility as read in the aspects formed
between planets in the respective horoscopes.
Couples who get along well usually agree in viewpoint. Temperaments may differ, but they
should be congenial. That is, they should blend or balance each other, not clash. This is
known as polarity. In astrology temperament is described by the elements: that is, fire, earth,
air, and water. It is important that the Ascendants of the two people be compatible, since the
Ascendant represents basic disposition and temperament. Fire combines easily with fire or air.
Earth combines easily with earth or water. Any other combination will probably denote friction
due to "rubbing each other the wrong way." Perhaps a simple example will better aid in
understanding. Imagine fire and water combining. They do not combine easily because their
natures are different. Either fire boils water and produces steam or water drenches fire and
extinguishes it. The same thing can happen when a fire person combines with a water person.
There is an analogous effect between people for the other combinations of the elements.

MY PHILOSOPHY OF ASTROLOGY
Astrology is the study of the effects of planetary forces upon man. It is not fortune telling. It is
one of the best methods for man to learn about who he is, where he came from and where he
is going. Astrology reveals CHARACTER and character is destiny. If man can change his
character, then man will have changed his destiny. The main uses of astrology are diagnosis
of health and sickness, character analysis, vocational guidance, analysis of children's
horoscopes so as to give parents a better idea as to how best to raise their children, and
analysis of the compatibilities between people.
Astrology does not show anything but tendencies. A man can rule his stars by exerting his will.
If a man decides to flow with the tide of life, then the tendencies indicated in the birth chart will
at some time have their effect. The one thing a birth chart does not show is the WILL of the
individual and how he may exert it. The matter of exercising free will is left entirely up to the
individual. The wise man rules his stars, the fool is ruled by them. Astrology forewarns and
being forewarned, a man is thus forearmed to better cope with the struggles of life.
Remember that good or so-called evil configurations are not the result of chance or luck, but
are the product of our own past acts — the horoscope shows what we have earned by our
past living and therefore what we are entitled to in the present life. What we lack in this life can
be gained in the future by applying ourselves to the task at hand. The stars IMPEL but do not
COMPEL. As Goethe, the great mystic, said, "From every power that holds the world in
chains, Man frees himself when self-control he gains."
The Law of Consequence ("Whatsoever a man sows, that he shall also reap") works in
harmony with the planets. The spirit is born into the physical world at that opportune time
when the Law and the planets may operate in harmony with each other. The birth of an Ego is
so timed by the Lords of Destiny, that the horoscope, which is the clock of destiny, registers
the kind of debts which the Ego has incurred in its previous lives, and the time when these
debts come to fruition, when the harvest from the seeds which have been sown must be
garnered. However, the law of destiny is not a blind law, for it may be modified to a certain
degree in proportion to the amount of will power awakened and utilized by the Ego. "For be
not deceived, God is not mocked. The mills of the gods grind exceedingly slow, but they grind
exceedingly fine."
There are three factors which bring to us the mystic message of the stars — the houses, the
signs and the planets. Each house represents a department of life, the signs are divisions of
the heavens which by their placement relative to the houses indicate our basic temperament
and attitude towards life, and the planets are the messengers of God which by their motion
through the houses and signs bring to us the opportunities for soul growth which we need for
our individual development. Think of the planets as representing the players in a play. The
signs, then, would describe the role that each player has and how he expresses his character,

the houses represent the various settings of the play and the angular relationships between
the planets, the aspects, represent the plot of the play. Each planet has a characteristic
energy. That energy can be expressed either positively or negatively. The way that energy is
expressed is determined by the aspects of the other planets to that particular planet.
The horoscope shows tendencies only. It is a matter for you to determine how any planetary
position will work itself out. That will be determined by the use you make of your own
WILLPOWER.

THE RISING SIGN OR ASCENDANT
The sign that is on the eastern horizon at the moment of birth is called the Rising Sign or the
Ascendant. The Ascendant marks the difference in temperament, disposition, physical
appearance and personality of individuals. It is the lens through which everything else in the
chart is focused or looked through, thus coloring the way we look at everything. People see us
through our rising sign and we see the world through our rising sign.
YOUR ASCENDANT IS:

People with Capricorn rising tend to be sensitive, timid, business-like, ambitious, controlling,
reserved, practical, down-to-earth, duty-conscious, responsible, critical, and cold. You may
have had trouble communicating in early life. Perhaps you suffer from feelings of inadequacy.
You overcome these feelings through sheer necessity, for you have determination in
achieving your goals and purposes in life. You have great ambition and do not settle until you

If the planets represent energies and cosmic forces that manifest in different ways, then the
planetary aspects show how these energies and forces tend to act and react, one with
another, if the will of the person is not brought into play to change them. It is the spiritual task
of each person to use the positive energies in such ways so as to change the negative
energies into positive energies. Negative energies are simply energies that are either
misdirected, misapplied, or applied in too great a quantity. One of our purposes in life is to
transform the negative energies into positive ones through the use of our Will.
Sun blending with Mercury

You have a tendency at times to see things from your perspective only. Occasionally you have
trouble being objective because you can be pretty self-absorbed. You love to talk about
yourself, your ideas and your views, but you aren't all that interested in listening to others do
the same thing. You enjoy a clear mind, with a quick wit, and you have a love for learning and
involving yourself in new experiences. You need constant mental stimulation and activity or
you get bored. You have the ability to communicate your ideas to others and to win them over

You tend to be what some people call the hopeless romantic. You are very idealistic about
love and romance and many times it isn't so much the case that you love someone or that you
are in love with someone as it is that you are in love with love. You tend to put your loved one
on a pedestal and this can bring problems because when the loved one eventually does
something to "fall from grace", then huge disappointment and disillusionment set in and you
are crushed. You need to stop looking at the world through rose-colored glasses and see
things for how and what they really are. Your ideas about how people ought to relate and love
each other get in the way of your actual relationships.
Another facet of this aspect is that you may have such an ideal mate built up in your own
imagination that no real person could ever come close to your fantasy. You may spend your
entire lifetime looking for Mr. or Ms. Perfect such that you miss Mr. or Ms. Right. You become
very disillusioned when you discover that no real, flesh-and-blood person ever quite lives up to
your dream image of the perfect mate. Come down to earth and realize that no one is perfect
and there are no white knights ready to come dashing along to save you. Stop the dreaming
but don't give up the dream. Although you frequently fantasize about love and romance, you
may avoid becoming intimately involved with anyone or making definite commitments. You
can be evasive and dishonest with yourself and others when it comes to love.
There is danger of falling into the wrong type of relationship, a relationship of co-dependence.
Either you or your partner may enjoy or feel obligated to play the role of martyr, victim or
savior. Remember that no good relationship is unequal. Two equal partners who neither feel
the need to save or be saved make the best couple.
You are a sensitive person who enjoys the finer, aesthetic things in life. You desire harmony
and beauty and are probably attracted to the arts in some way, either painting, music, dance,
theater or drama. You are perhaps attracted to those with artistic or mystical inclinations.
There is a certain charm about you that others find unworldly. The unusual and the intuitive,

remember that you have human frailty, but do the best you can as that is all the Universe asks

spiritual and personal growth, your experiences. You need to learn to love without expecting
love in return. You must learn to forgive and thus release inner resentments. You need to
learn how to turn the other cheek while not becoming a doormat for all to walk on. One last
thing, do not turn to drugs or alcohol when you feel sorrow or when you feel like escaping from
the world. Life must be faced head-on if you are to get anywhere and resorting to drugs or
alcohol will only make things much worse.

You are articulate, expressive and witty, but you may lack persistence and depth, in both
thought and action. Your memory is not that good and you lack mental stability. You find it
difficult to make any sort of decision and are subject to much worry, usually over trivial things
that never happen. Your nervous habits can be irritating to others. You have a tendency to
gossip behind other people's backs. You stretch the truth for your own purposes. You have a
natural interest in people and their inner motivations, feelings, personal lives, and
experiences. You are a natural listener with a talent for getting others to talk about their lives,
dreams, desires — the things that are personally meaningful to them. You have a particular

big way. But, you can come across at times as being too forceful or aggressive in your desire

knowledge. Travel, either physical or mental, can be an avenue for you in this quest. You love
taking risks if you think this will help you come out ahead, either financially or otherwise. But
you should be careful as you are prone to bad judgment, bad luck and overdoing your

Competition with and through others is designed to teach you how to better cooperate with
people. Great personal and soul growth can come about with this aspect, but you must be
willing to put others first instead of yourself.
In previous lives you have been too domineering and now you must learn to listen to other
people's viewpoints and opinions with an open mind. If you choose not to do this, then things
will go from bad to worse. Power must be used wisely, for the good of all, not just for the good
of self. This is why people are put into positions of power, so they can learn these lessons.
Great reform and regeneration is possible but your selfish nature must be put aside first.

MY PHILOSOPHY OF ASTROLOGY
Astrology is the study of the effects of planetary forces upon man. It is not fortune telling. It is
one of the best methods for man to learn about who he is, where he came from and where he
is going. Astrology reveals CHARACTER and character is destiny. If man can change his
character, then man will have changed his destiny. The main uses of astrology are diagnosis
of health and sickness, character analysis, vocational guidance, analysis of children's
horoscopes so as to give parents a better idea as to how best to raise their children, and
analysis of the compatibilities between people.
Astrology does not show anything but tendencies. A man can rule his stars by exerting his will.
If a man decides to flow with the tide of life, then the tendencies indicated in the birth chart will
at some time have their effect. The one thing a birth chart does not show is the WILL of the
individual and how he may exert it. The matter of exercising free will is left entirely up to the
individual. The wise man rules his stars, the fool is ruled by them. Astrology forewarns and
being forewarned, a man is thus forearmed to better cope with the struggles of life.
Remember that good or so-called evil configurations are not the result of chance or luck, but
are the product of our own past acts — the horoscope shows what we have earned by our
past living and therefore what we are entitled to in the present life. What we lack in this life can

through the houses and signs bring to us the opportunities for soul growth which we need for
our individual development. Think of the planets as representing the players in a play. The
signs, then, would describe the role that each player has and how he expresses his character,

natal Saturn, the partner is likely to be a person of integrity, faithful, steady, reliable,
industrious, persevering and economical, perhaps not over-demonstrative and preferring
deeds to words, and providing a real anchor for the partnership.
If natal Saturn is badly aspected, then there is a tendency to endure an unhappy marriage
rather than to lose face by breaking up. If you neglect to make your partner happy, your own
happiness will be affected in the same proportion. This position can also mean a second
choice marriage, which endures in spite of boredom, unhappiness and a lack of love. In other
words you may have wanted to marry someone else but settled on a second choice instead.
