Excellent
Mark 11 - 15: Presentation is excellent in structure and your ideas are very clearly presented,
with fluent use of academic language throughout. Excellent demonstration of teamwork and
peer engagement
15
Satisfactory
Mark 6 - 10: Well-structured and clearly presented work, with fluent use of academic
language throughout. Good demonstration of teamwork and peer engagement
11.25
Unsatisfactory
Mark 0 - 5: limited to adequately structured presentation. More thought could perhaps have
gone towards the means of presentation, with little evidence of peer engagement and
teamwork
7.5
Poor
Poorly presented work which lacks clarity and purpose. It is important to consider how
information will be received by a client
3.75

Criterion 2: Clear, logical development of the idea and project

20% of total mark
Excellent
Mark 16 - 20: Excellent presentation of the purpose and aim of the text. Your introduction is
concise, coherent, and articulate and very clearly sets the context. The introduction is clearly
evidence and this standard continues throughout the presentation. You have developed your
ideas extremely well and flow is logical throughout
20
Satisfactory
Mark 11 - 15: Very good presentation of the purpose and aim of the project. You have stated
the position of the organisation and you have provided significant background discussion for
context. The presentation benefited from an in-depth introduction; it is evident what it is
about, why it is of value and how it contributes to knowledge in this subject area. It is also
evident that you have considered the external macro-environmental influences.
15
Unsatisfactory
Mark 6 - 10: Satisfactory to good presentation of the purpose and aim. That said, it is the
background narrative that is largely missing. For instance, the macro environmental factors
have not been sufficiently articulated. You have provided some evidence of strategic insight,
but it is rather superficial and does not delve deep enough into the importance of how to
purpose an organisation and why business has such an important role in society.
10
Poor
Mark 0 - 5: Limited presentation of the purpose and aim of the organisational challenge. The
introduction is overly descriptive and does not clearly define your understanding of the issue
and the potential impact it has towards societal good. There is a lack of strategic insight and
the macro-environmental influences have not been sufficiently articulated.

Criteria 3: Connectivity between topics
15% of total mark
Excellent
Mark 13 - 15: An excellent demonstration of your ability to select appropriate topics and
themes, coupled with your ability to digest the contents of a text and create a meaningful
explanation of what it means and why it is important. Your presentation is clear, concise and
evidence-based and the structure of your work is excellent. The ability to articulately present
information is a skill, and this has been executed extremely well in this piece of work.
15
Satisfactory
Mark 9 - 12: A very good demonstration of your ability to think about the topics and to put
them in to context. You have provided evidence of your ability to consider the ‘fit’ between
the scholar and the point you are trying to make. You have drawn out some of the key themes
and provided a narrative which is clear and concise. You are using appropriate terms and
concepts in your explanation. Your interpretation of context is extremely well thought out.
11.25
Unsatisfactory
Mark 5 - 8: A good attempt at summarising the key themes and providing evidence of
connectivity, but you could have made more use of academic sources. Always think about
relevance – why are you presenting this topic and what is the relationship with the topic
before and after – think about flow and if it makes sense. Does what I am presenting now help
me achieve my aim and objectives? If the answer to those questions is no, you should re-visit
your introduction and think again about how you will approach it
7.5
Poor
Mark 0 - 4: Very limited demonstration of your ability to draw the key themes from the
literature. The narrative is not structured coherently. You provide little evidence of your
understanding about how the subjects link together and the importance of them as a
collective.
3.75

Criteria 4: Application of theory to topics

20% of total mark
Excellent
Mark 16 - 20: Excellent ability to link and analyse theory and practice. You have provided
evidence throughout of your ability to interpret complex concepts and to provide a compelling
argument and discussion. This presentation includes an excellent evidence- based justification
towards your thoughts and ideas; it is apparent that you have really considered the situational
context and it is evident that a great deal of learning has resulted from this assessment. you
are fluent in your use of language and the overall structure of your work is excellent
20
Satisfactory
Mark 11 - 15: A very good and systematic demonstration of understanding in most of the key
areas of knowledge. You have analysed the content and engaged in a detailed dialogue
towards the contribution the scholars have made in the area of your work. It is pleasing to
observe that you have made sound judgements, based on evidence and consideration of the
bigger picture and you have done so fluently and articulately. The application of theory to
practice is one of the most important aspects of what we are trying to achieve in an
assessment of this nature, and this is what provides the evidence of your ability to think
strategically.
15
Unsatisfactory
Mark 6 - 10: An acceptable and partially substantiated demonstration of understanding in
some of the key areas of knowledge relevant to the work. Whist you have tried to apply the
theory the theory to practice, it is presented in a very superficial manner and is overly
descriptive. You have identified some sources of reference, but some may be non-academic
which does not provide justifiable evidence of engagement. Overall, this aspect lacks critical
discussion. It is important to think about what you are presenting and why. Consider how the
theory links to your story and if you struggle to make the link, revisit your original aim.
10
Poor
Mark 0 - 5: Limited understanding in all key areas of knowledge relevant to the work.
Although you have described where you see the fit between theory and practice it lacks clarity
unfortunately and does not provide sufficient evidence of scholarly engagement. You have
not have fluently articulated how what you have learned about the subject translates into the
organisational problem.

Criteria 5: Referencing and presentation

10% of total mark
Excellent
Mark 7 - 10: Well-structured and clearly presented work, with fluent use of academic
language and utilising a relevant and extensive range of source materials. Effective use of
appropriate analytical and research methods and consideration of ethical issues
10
Satisfactory
Mark 4 - 6: Adequately structured and presented work, with clear use of academic language
and reference to a sufficient range of relevant source materials. Adequate use of appropriate
analytical and research methods and does address ethical considerations
7.5
Unsatisfactory
Mark 0 - 3: Poorly structured work, with limited use of academic sources and insufficient
engagement with scholarly resources. Insufficient demonstration of your ability to use and
apply appropriate research methods
5
Poor
2.5

Criteria 6: Active reflection

20% of total mark
Excellent
Mark 16 - 20: Excellent reflection. You have considered the before, during and after the
experience and thought about the challenges, what went well, why it worked and what you
would do differently in the future. You have supported this with academic models, and it is
evident that you have engaged in the process, learning as a consequence
20
Satisfactory
Mark 11 - 15: Very good reflection. You have managed to strike the balance between your
personal perspective and reasoning. You have recognised that situations are not always as
straightforward as they seem. Your thinking process is informed
15
Unsatisfactory
Mark 6 - 10: Satisfactory reflection. You have considered the experience and attempted to
narrate your thoughts and feelings. A little more insight would have been beneficial,
particularly in the ‘what would I do differently next time aspect.
10
Poor
Mark 0 - 5: Unsatisfactory reflection. Your writing is descriptive and it seems that you have
not engaged in the thinking process required to visualise how things have happened, what you
have learned and how you can adapt the situation or scenario in the future
