WATER TREAMENT

In year 2020, we visualize how our hydrosphere became more pollutant. By the means of
natural phenomenon and human factor, we can’t have a safe useable water. And by the help of
our great ideas of engineers and geologist and other researchers. We came up to have water
treatment. So how is it works?

First the water treatment facilities have a interconnected pipes also called basins to water
dams to have a sustainable water sources. Then the raw water goes to screening area that filter
out large and solid debris that will not easy to dissolve like logs and hard stones and other
foreign objects such a trash and plastics. After screening the screened water goes to pre
chlorination which gives small amount of chlorine to lessen the contamination as soon as it
started to treat. After the pre chlorine treatment, the water goes to coagulation; it is the treatment
when we filtered out the impurities that separate the sludge and the water itself. The sludge itself
have small amout of water goes back to near lagoon because it has high contamination of
nitrogen has gives lagoon more moss. The next process is sedimentation which the flock
particles remove by adding chemicals to the treating water. The remaining flock goes to dump or
other facilities to study and treat as helper to plant growth. The other water treatment facilities
use air floatation which the air pump under the area release bubbles and when bubbles came up
it carries the flock beneath it and remove in the water surface. Then next is filtration area which
has a natural filter system that has sand filters that removes the smallest object. The layers of
sand filters are the fine,medium and course sand. This filtration technique are very technical and
efficient because it just the water flow to the filtration process and the sand will be the screen
that minimize the area of flocks or other foreign objects to escape the filtration process. Other
treatment facilities adding activated carbon area which filtered more water because of tiny pores
on it, it keeps the water filtered out and gives good taste and odor on it. The next step is the
disinfection, usually the facilities adding chlorine as one of the disinfecting agent to water that
kills pathogens that can cause health issues to those who will use the water. The other facilities
use ozone or O3 instead of chlorine that directly kills the bacteria and other harmful microscopic
things but also improve the taste of water. And after all the process of water treatment it goes to
the main pipes that directly distribute to the consumers itself. The process are approved not just
by the local government but also approves in the facilities and by the law, that’s why our water
are clean and safe to drink and use.

The things that we should know that we should value the water itself because water
facilities do their best to give an efficient and safe water to our home. Use it with conservation
because water is the essential to every living organism.
