The United Nations is a cardinal and phenomenal world organizations where every
nation , whether strong or weak, can express itself. It is a fora where every
member state can express its concerns and can give recommendations for the further
line of action. Since its inception , the United nations has been dealing with the
issues of the world which it , to a greater extent , has solved successfully.
However , on many occasions it has left many disappointed and suspicious that the
organization is merely a rubber stamp for well to do economies.

However , as far as the question of future of the united nations is concerned,

there are many areas which are heedworthy. First of all, the future of the UN is
dependent mainly on the support of its member states. If all the member states,
particularly five permanent members’ of security council , devot themselves to the
implementation of UN' decision and policies. In other words, its future , to be
bright, relies mainly on the will of its members to act in accordance with UN
charter. If they respond negatively , it will have to witness its twilight and doom
like the one which the league of nations has witnessed.

Secondly, its future is dependent upon its performance to solve the problems
efficiently and double down on its efforts. It is sine qua non or imperative for
the UN to bring transparency and quickness in its efforts to eradicate violence and
improve the plight of the people particularly the global south. Therefore ,in my
opinion , if all these prerequisites are met then the future of the united nations
will be bright and will be able to land greater support and respect from the world
community.

The Secretary general and his responsiblities:

The position of the Secretary general is a prominent and significant one. He has
been playing and can play a colossal role in the maintenance of world security and
the upliftment of socioeconomic conditions. However , upto the question of whether
or not he is playing his role best, it cannot be answered in black and white. Since
his role is that of mediator and impartial figure, he most often play a good role.
In my opinion , currently he is trying his level best in solving the disputes of
the world. Similarly , he is struggling for world climate to avoid the
repercussions of the global warming. Therefore , he is playing and performing his
role best to handle the critical situation of the world. But it cannot be ruled out
that there are some issues which needs his attention.
