Abstract:
This paper has been prepared on the basis of a tourist caravan which includes market strategy,
mission, vision, target market, pricing and promotion etc. Tourist caravan is a new innovation in
our tourism sector. This is an open top bus with integrated facilities of restaurant, Wi-Fi,
washroom, book corner etc. Tourist can enjoy the beautiful sun rise and also enjoy the view of
cloud over the mountains and so on.

Introduction: Tourist caravan is a new invention for the travelers. Tourist can enjoy their travel
and move easily and peacefully with tourist caravan. Tourist can visit many spot and enjoy their
trip happily. It is a bus service where tourist can enjoy good view of sunrise and also enjoy the
view cloud over the mountain. They also find many facilities like free Wi-Fi, washroom, open
upper deck, lower deck, and live kitchen and also find a book corner where book lovers read books
easily. We offered breakfast, lunch and the evening snacks for the tourists. It’s all about a package
for the tourists and also a day long trip. First time we will start the service at Bandarban.
Tourist can develop their knowledge about this place to visit this place. Through which they will
enjoy the time of travel. Travel is the thing that brings peace.

Mission:
Our mission is to achieve serve customers with greater satisfaction and create more business
opportunities. We will take feedback from our customer and try to know that what they want then
we work on it. We satisfied our customer by creating hospitable environment and some specific
arrangements which offer our customers an aesthetic feel. We will offer discount through various
campaign to our customers. We will offer our packages through travel agencies. We will represent
the view from our bus in various platforms especially online based promotion to get greater
coverage which eventually maximize our customer base.

Vision:
In future, if we see that we are getting good reviews from our passenger and the demand of our
service is increasing, then we will expand our service. We will expand our service in different
cities like Rangamati, Sylhet and other tourist sport in Bangladesh. We will increase the number
of our bus after seeing the demand. If we get a good response, we will work more on it.

Target Customer:
Our project is designed to solve a quite unique problem. It is really heartbreaking that we lack
proper infrastructures and projects to actually satisfy the growing market of tourism. When we see
foreigners roaming around a beautiful place with an opened rooftop bus, we also desire to do the
same thing in our country but because of the lack of that service we cannot. But due to this project,
we hope we can overcome this shortcoming. To make it happen we need to address the market in
a proper way so that we can have our service up and running on the market without any hassle.

To identify the target market we need to first analyze the current situation of the market. For this
we can apply some techniques which are standard practices in the field of marketing. Then we can
identify the segmented market alongside the analysis.

A segmented market refers to a section of the customers who share the same set of wants. So, if
we can target the appropriate segment(s) then it will be most efficient and beneficial. We will
segment the Customer Market based on Geographic, Demographic, Psychographic and Behavioral
aspects. With the help of PEST and SWOT analyses we can get an overview of the Geographical
segmentation.

PEST is a mix of four words, such as Political, Economic, Social and Technical. Here, we will
apply the existing knowledge of PEST without explaining its functions to have a better picture of
the external environment related to the project.
If we start the analysis with the political stability we can say the central government is quite stable
as they have been in power for many years now. Again, the willpower of the current government
is visible as they almost completed a major project of Padma Bridge. But there is a catch. The
current government is notorious for their unwanted intervention in private projects. They also put
sanctions upon ongoing projects. We have the challenge of tackling the single window dialogue
system, as a bonus. And it is so cumbersome to do legal documentations in Bangladesh. Being a
new startup we may have to go through the immense pressure of getting the documents validated
by the government officials who are notorious for their tortoise-like pace and corruption. Hence,
the politically aware people can be our target market if we have good deals with the political
parties.
Now let's see the economic aspects as well. We have to be preemptive about the fact that
fundraising can be a nightmare because in the country of Bangladesh, people hardly think of
providing funds to an unpredictable startup. Unpredictable in a sense that the idea is so new in
terms of the situation of our country that people are unaware of its existence. Again, resources are
limited and the government is not so friendly about this matter as well. We may have to purchase
or rent things at a very unusual rate. The hedge fund community is not that prevalent. Again, the
actions of local financing institutions are dubious and risky. Though the stock market is out of any
kind of Bull or Bear Run since 2011 when the stock market scam happened. But the dry run is still
out there in the stock market. Government policies towards Foreign Direct Investment are also
nonperforming. That means we can’t have money from foreign investors so easily. But there are
some possible ways to have the required funds. As we know Bangladesh govt has been providing
special care and funds for ideas through a government program called “Startup Bangladesh Idea”.
We can apply here for funds. Again there are some fund providers who are linked with banks.

They can also provide us with the funds. So, to provide better experience and target the middle
class and upper middle class we have to be financially stable.
Here, if we discuss the social aspect, the first thing that we have to ensure is hygiene and ban
alcohol inside the caravan. Sanitation has to be our first priority to make the people truthful about
our service when we are surrounded by the deadly contagious viruses. We have to make some
protocols regarding client ethics and behavior as well.
We will churn the most out of the technical advantages which are available in our country. We
will have our own app regarding many facilities which we will be providing. Again, we will have
QR codes embedded with the vehicles which will bear enough information about the company,
stuff and service. With the app anyone can get the information by scanning the QR code. Again
the idea of the app will be further discussed in the communication segment. The customers who
want better transportation will be on our target as well.

First thing first, as we are totally new to the market our strengths and weaknesses are more
dependent on the external environment then our past records as we have none. But we have endless
opportunities to extract but the path will never be easy at all. We have to take risks. The competitors
are less but exist. Again, it will be very risky to manage local governments as well because the
political situation is very shaken inside. If we want to have our caravan running on hilly tracts we
have to keep in mind that there are some extremist groups who can target our clients to grab the
attention worldwide.

Again, teenagers will be our primary target. We will design our services in such a way that
teenagers get attracted to it. The vehicles will be colorful and have music systems in it to give a
modern feeling. We will have tight security so that men and women both can enjoy freedom and
feel safe in the caravan.

Sometimes people who enjoy luxury want to have this exotic experience of a caravan. They won’t
be disappointed because our service will inherit the characteristics of being modern, rich and
delicate. The best part is the caravan has a simple but elegant design that the middle class and
upper class both can fit for its service.

To sum up, our primary target is to provide our service to all of the domestic, national, and
international clients. To keep alive our service based business we have to have a survey on what
people think about our idea before jumping off to head start. If we look at the demographics, we
can see the segment of people who will undoubtedly welcome our idea as a symbol of
modernization. Good thing about this project is we can easily scale our project in any direction
whether it be vertical or horizontal as the consumer base grows. We can have an upper hand over
our competitors if we start the project as well as possible

Tourist Caravan pricing:

Price is all about customer’s cost and customer’s affordability. So, for Tourist caravan, here we
also look at the tourist cost and there affordability. We know the lots of technique for measuring
the tourist caravan cost. Here we have mention bellow:

· First of all we have to look at listed price: If we look to our society we can find that different
people have different choice. In Caravan perspective, we must consider the price for different
societies or different level people. So, we will set an equilibrium price so that different level people
have the ability to buy this Caravan ticket. As a result, we will get more tourist in Caravan and
profit will be high.
· Second one is Discounts: Most of the tourist are prefer discount. So, if we give discount to
the tourist in Caravan then they will prefer more and buy the ticket. For example, January is the
best time to visit in Bandarban. So, we will have to give the discount in other season so that tourist
also buy the ticket in other season.
· Third one is Allowance: It’s like discount but not at all. In Caravan perspective, we will
provide package service including breakfast, lunch, coffee, roof rope opportunities, and washroom
opportunities and so on. Another one can be, if you buy a ticket then we will draw a lottery within
4 month then we will pick 5 people for another Caravan tour which will be totally free.
· Forth one is Payment method: In that payment method, we can give the opportunities for
students, families and the group people. For example, if you buy five ticket then you can down
payment for 2 members. You can pay it after we reached the venue. As a result what this Tourist
Caravan have done? This will actually extend the payment period for increasing sales. So, it’s also
beneficial for lots of the tourist.

Promotion:
Tourist Caravan is a unique tourism product which promotes family oriented tours even in circuits.
Tourist Caravan promotion is one of the important issue that can bring good response with tourists
and interact with them. Basically tourist caravan is a service oriented product which can ensure
the tourist satisfaction. So tourist demands more satisfaction from this Caravan. To ensure the
tourist satisfaction we must need to promote our Caravan which helps us to increase our sales. So
we have mention some promotion plans:

 Sales Promotion: We have some incentives for the tourist like if anyone buy 9 tickets at a
time he/she will get an extra ticket free. On the other hand tourist can apply our promo
code when they buy our ticket from online and get discount in their package.

 Advertisement: Tourist Caravan is not only for the selective tourists. It is available for all
types of tourist who want to travel in Bandar ban. Bandar ban is covered with green hill
which can attract tourist mind easily. A Caravan park is a place where Caravan can stay
overnight in allotted spaces providing basic or advanced amenities and facilities. If we
create a caravan park in Bandarban it will create an extra utility for the tourist.

 Corporate Social Responsibility: Random people who cannot effort this ride are offered a
free 10 to 20 minutes trip any day of the month so that they can enjoy the ride with nature.

 Public Relation: We want to present our facilities and tourist benefits through travel blogs
or media so that anyone can easily know about our service. It would attract a wide range
of market segments including young people, families, senior citizens and international
tourists.

 Direct Marketing: We can communicate with our tourist directly through our hot line
number which is a part of direct marketing. For this reason we can promote our business
with full support of tourist satisfaction.

Communication:
In the modern world it is so much easier to lose a user base, if a service can’t build a proper
communication channel with the customers. It won’t be a mistake if we consider the lack of
communication to be the dead end for our project. It is kind of a motto and one of the three main
pillars of marketing that a product has to build a sustainable rapport with the customer for the
success.

Why do we need a better and innovative communication channel?

i) Individual security.

ii) Better Experience.

iii) Avoiding risks.

iv) Good travel records.

It becomes a duty to give a medium to communicate in a remote area. In many areas of Bangladesh
the internet is not available that much. What we can do in this case is that we can provide hotspots
to the customers so that they can be in touch with the one who they trust. Again foreign tourists
often require internet connection the most as they are totally unaware of the customs and
geography. From the internet they can have other services by which they can communicate
efficiently.

To provide a better experience, we have decided to launch an app also. This app is not mandatory
to get the service in the first place but can be helpful to get extra benefits. With the app the client
can communicate with the tourist guide of the caravan. The app will provide all the information

about the service. Anyone who has installed the app on their mobile phone can scan the QR code
which is printed on all of the four sides of the caravan vehicle. The QR code holds all the
information about that particular vehicle. The app will have built in support of voice translation
which can be achieved by the services of google. And the best part of this app is that we don’t
have to outsource the app from abroad because our own countrymen do this job for other countries.
So we can have solid support at home. Again, to perform PR activities we must have to hire public
personalities. And for branding, we may need to hire a public face as an ambassador. One thing
that we have to keep in mind is we can’t afford negative marketing at any cost. Because it can have
huge repercussions in the long run if it fails. PR stunts must be avoided all the time.

We can’t take risks regarding our clients' lives. So, we must avoid such places which are dangerous
to be in. And yes, we will provide the information of the local authorities so that they can be
contacted when necessary. In the past, there were bandits who were the nemesis for the caravan.
Time changes but mentality does not. The modern day caravan can be on the scope of the modern
day bandits as well. So, the guide will be the center of attention for the app users. The app users
can contact the guide through the app at any given time. The motto should be “Your safety is our
number one priority”.

To make the travel record look good we have to give perks to the early adopters of our service.
When the record book will be getting some fresh entries, we can show them to our dynamic
websites where tourists can put their ratings, opinions and experiences. The app for the tour guides
will have a special feature to see the schedule of bus journeys. They can contact other tour guides
to have a proper understanding about timing. With this they can avoid any type of accident. To
give a better experience to the tourists we can talk with road & transport authorities so that the
tourists can have hassle free journeys.

Again, it will be our responsibility to give a good platform to the clients for making financial
transactions. We can partner with many finance hubs. There are many money transaction based
services available in our country. And the good thing is they have a solid reputation countrywide.
We can utilize this factor and have a proper deal with them so that the consumers will use those
services to get our services. It may seem a dependency at first but anyway it is a great move to
play.

As we have to spend a huge amount of money on advertising and other types of promotion, we
must have a better understanding of human interest in travelling with a caravan. Our tourist caravan
service can become a role model for others who will show interest in this field. Our marketing
team will utilize the first mover advantage hopefully.
