Interpersonal communication skills can help you be productive in the
workplace, build strong and positive relationships with your colleagues and
complete team projects smoothly and effectively. The benefits of good
interpersonal skills can affect the morale and productivity of your entire team
or department.
Having good interpersonal skills promotes approachability, likability and
comfort.
While all interpersonal skills can benefit people in the workplace,
interpersonal communication is key to working as a team and reaching shared
goals. Here are six interpersonal communication skills that are particularly
significant at work.
Managers who possess strong interpersonal skills motivate their staff
to challenge themselves and do a better job. Most importantly, they
make workers feel as if they can go to their bosses with any problems
or concerns. Intrapersonal communication can help some people
clarify their beliefs, values and attitudes. It can also help some work
on their self-esteem and confidence. It is important to others to help
them prepare for interpersonal communication.
