Happy mother – Happy Life

CAUSE EFFECT ESSAY

A former president of India once said, “When a mother is happy, a family is happy. When
a family is happy, the nation is happy.” By this, we can conclude that the emotion of a mother
plays an important role in controlling the emotion of the whole family. It is indeed a dream to
have a blissful life and a happy family for every mother in this world. Therefore, a mother should
be happy to make sure that their family can live in happiness as well. However, what are the
ways to be a happy mother? Focus on the positive things, do not pressure and have a good
time for yourself are the several ways to be a happy mom which can lead to have a happy
family.

First and foremost, start focusing on designing a more joyful life is one of the ways to be
a happy mom. According to Wits End Parenting (2020), sometimes, there will be a moment
when every mom would get frustrated with all the responsibilities which can make it to be
tempting and makes them want to check out for a while. This statement shows that motherhood
is tough and stressful until they do not have the chance to get away from it as they are carrying
big responsibilities. However, as a mother, you should not pressure yourself, or put all the
burdens just on yourself. You should enjoy every little moment when you are being a mother.
Spending your time wisely with your family can be the way for you to enjoy yourself more as a
mother. It would be even more fun if you could plan a good trip and create beautiful memories
together with them. For instance, by having a short trip or a holiday at the beach. Apart from
that, you can perhaps make a journal about the memories and even your daily life. Indeed,
concentrating on having a joyful life is important if you want to be a happy mom.

Other than that, to be a happy mother, you should be easy on yourself. The first thing
that comes to every mother’s mind when they do chores is that they have to do it on their own.
As a mother, you should never put yourself on the edge off the cliff. As stated by Kelly Holmes
(2019), in “How to Be A Happy Mom: Science Says Do These 7 Things”, when a mom
experience a bad emotion, the amygdala of her brain will start to overthink and makes her brain
to shuts down into logic and interprets every little thing as a threat. Therefore, as a way to be a
happy mother, you should relax yourself and do not overwork. If there are things that need to be
settled, you may ask help from your children or husband. Next, be simple but enough for your
family. Everything in your life does not need to be sophisticated and exquisite. Sometimes we
need to accept the fact that simple things are enough to be happy. For example, make a simple
dinner for your family but yet it is enough and delicious for all.

Last but not least, have time for yourself is also a need to be a happy mother. As a
mother, you must not exclude yourself from the list to be happy. Therefore, a mother needs to
pamper and make time to take care of yourself. You also have to do things that you like and buy
things that you needed as a reward for being a good mother in the family. Moreover, as the core
in the house, you might need to take a good rest after you have settled with your work and
house chores. As an example, get enough sleep is adequate. According to Nataly Kogan (n.d),
twofold results that found that subjects who slept less were more likely to experience “repetitive
negative thoughts” while completing set tasks.

All in all, concentrating on the good things, have time and do not put a burden to yourself
are the ways that should be taken by every mother in this world in a way to be a happier mother
if they are dreaming to have a happy family. This is because happiness would not come from
winning the lottery or when you hold a high position at work but lasting happiness comes from
all the conscious efforts that you put when you practice the right habits as a mother.
